Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Switch to have Missions, not Achievements?

this is good.. since you actually earn currency you can buy stuff with.. you can buy discounts on games with the silver coins i.e.

I really do hope that at the very least whatever system they do implement is system wide and consolidated instead of individually-per game. Of course I don't put that much emphasis on it (achievement system) but I would enjoy having the option.

Now that's something I can get behind. Achievements never really did it for me. I just think of it as that annoying little popup in the corner that comes up every once in a while.

Surely I don't speak for everyone...but if this is implemented consistently, I'd actually prefer this over conventional achievements or trophies. I'll take a lame reward over no reward.

Hopefully the rewards are less lame over time though. I never really feel motivated to log in just to decide if I should use my points on a 3DS theme or $5 off a digital game.

I'm skeptical about this. Shouldn't this be connected with the official nintendo website?

While we're at it, nintendo should make 'hell' challenges that give you a decent award. "Clear breath of the wild without dying" or "beat Super Mario Odyssey without powerups"

Yay I got mentions

It's better than nothing, I guess? Or is it? I dunno, it seems increasingly likely that the only reasons to get a Swtich are Mario and Pokemon and well there's no point even buying other games unless this mission system actually seems worthwhile to me which at the moment it really doesn't. But hey, it's not like MS/Sony & Valve got it prefect (especially Valve!) either. To me it's really the 3rd party tracking sites that make achievements/trophies as interesting as they are so maybe somebody will come along and make a 3rd party Nintendo mission tracking site that can get me interested. One can hope at least.

Apply for a job on their website. You can be the master mission hunter and come up with some crap like that. 🙄

Hopefully its like FE Heroes. Where we can spend those coins on like stamina pots or materials.

I'd like to be able to use my coins from other games on Fire Emblem Heroes to get more summons. 🙄

My Nintendo has a page dedicated for Missions. So that might be a little bit of proof on what Nintendo is doing.

As far as where they got the Mission data for the Switch games, that's up in the air.

This is much better than doing mundane, pointless shit over and over to enlarge ones e-penis.
Discounts on VC and eShop for playing games, I'm in. On top of that the purchase of those discounted games gives even more points.
