Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Introducing Xbox Game Pass: Unlimited Access to More Than 100 Games

This is actually pretty amazing deal. I mean, I don't really know what the list of games are, but it's hard to turn down 10 cents per game per month. I'm very picky with my games, so it's not like I'd be interested, but it's quite the value.

Could help move systems if the box is advertised as coming with 100 games, and well showcased.

These won't be games that people actually won't and mostly 360 games since they have already made profit. People are hyping this when it won't have the latest games they people want. Paying that much to have access to games cI won't play is a waste of money. Won't be a selling point at all. Just like backwards compatability.

Kind of like how Netflix is something no one gives a shit about because it's loaded with garbage. Oh wait....

Sony's available games are better as they span from PS3 to PS2, but yes, the fact that you dont have to stream is a tremendouus asset.

The idea of the streaming thing is you don't even have to own a Hard Drive to play it, until recently you could use the service through a TV and only a TV.

That's not saying this product MS are offering won't be good but all services have their benefits. If streaming was such an issue for people, Netflix would never have been successful.

Steaming is good for shows, but not for games which can be buggy and not hold a stable frame rate, even if streaming because of file sizes. Downloading today is still the safer bet for gaming with the majority of gamers. Sony will always have a better selection than Microsoft, but Microsoft opted for emulation, which was smart. It gives you cleaner access.

Downloading is indeed much better than streaming.
Streaming produces lag, video quality isn't nearly as good and even worse when you got a shitty or unstable connection (wired connection pretty much required), can produce just as much data traffic (depending on playtime) as a full game download, needs an internet connection at all times.

and yes I've personally played games that have been streamed to my PC. Although I wouldn't even try to stream a multiplayer game.

I've used the Playstation Share feature a few times as a way to play local multiplayer with friends, it works pretty well. Twisted Metal Black being one of them, which is a very twitch gameplay game. I intend to use it a lot when Tekken 7 comes out, as me and my Tekken playing mate prefer the Team Battle as over the online modes which are usually 1v1 turns.

Hmm, pie.

But can I still play the games if the games I rented gets shuffled out?

No because you don't rent specific games. You're renting the whole selection of games that are available that month.

So the whole catalog gets changed on a monthly basis?

I don't think we know enough but I always figured they would rotate a few titles out at a time.

They said exactly that.

Good. I haven't read the FAQ but I think I picked that info up somewhere.

Damn. I'm not an alpha preview member. Only ever done a few surveys... That'll be why. I wanted to try this out.
