Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump: ‘Nobody knew that health care could be so complicated’

The Affordable Care Act is a mess - a market place with little competition and government forced participation drives up prices.

8 States Where Obamacare Rates Are Rising by at Least 30%

In Michigan, for example, state officials just approved price hikes of 16.7%, on average, for individuals purchasing health insurance in 2017 through the state's Affordable Care Act exchange. Individual buyers can expect average increases of 20% in Colorado, meanwhile, and price hikes of 19% to 43% in Iowa next year.Such price increases are actually on the low side compared with states like Minnesota and Oklahoma, where individual plans will shoot up 50% or more on November 1, which is when signups for 2017 coverage on marketplaces are opened.

Golfing with international partners to talk diplomacy is not wasting time - you are not getting better results by sitting inside an office for a conversation.

Obama was criticized for playing golf for vacation during times of national crises.

Universal Healthcare is something I want to happen in the USA, but corporate money coming into congress keeps preventing that. Hopefully people can become more active here in the USA and rise up to stop this bullshit from continuing.

Proud to be a Californian.

ofcourse Obama was criticized and deserved it.

I don't really care how many times a president played Golf the issue is that Obama got criticized so much for doing it by Trump and Trump stating he has no time to play Golf and will be working for you.      it is just like this thread issue..

"Republicans should let Obamacare “implode”"

 - Trump just admitted he would let people die, if he though he was to gain somepolitical points for it... not really surprising, what's surprising is that he says it out loud :-/ negating much of the political gain.

 - also, big pharma and  the insurers will just go even more wild knowing nobody will enforce any aspect of the aca.

 - Literally everybody who pays attention to healthcare knows how complex it really is :-/ that guy should not be running anything!

There is 2 different Trumps.  There is Truth Trump and then their is the one that lies a lot.  Truth Trump just says stuff off the top of his head before considering the consequences of his words.  Lying Trump comes in to defend Truth Trump after he realize he screwed up.  Perfect case is Trump Thank you tour outlined in the video below.

Actually the Republicans have a few good ideals to help the ACA, the problem is that the ACA is called Obamacare so they have no incentive to introduce any bill that fill the gaps in the ACA to strengthen it.  Instead they want to repeal it totally so they can name it something else and take credit.  Also the big problem with this is most of the ACA would be brought back and only few changes would be made thus making it seem pretty dumb repealing it, putting people off healthcare only to take months or years bring something back which is only slightly changed from the previous heathcare.

He's talking about the paperwork/regulation, it's funny how people completely missed this.

That's just tip of the iceberg that's the stupid of this entire briefing. It's funnier how people defend the stupidest things he says. Nobody knew that healthcare could be so complicated...well, if you were so adamant about repealing and replacing Obamacare, and if it bothered you that much, you should have been working on a plan years ago and then it wouldn't seem so complicated. He bragged that his plan would be simple, easy, and much better than what we have now and then he says it's so complicated. He just says too much when he doesn't know much. The story of the entire Trump administration thus far. Then again he did say he'd keep parts of Obamacare, then he said fully replace it, now he's saying let it stay and implode, etc. This guy is a sociopath. Him and his cabinet of incompetent clowns.

You do realise he's talking about Obamacare being complicated, not about the process. Trump wasn't a politican, years ago, i don't see why he should have been drafting a plan then.

His plan, is having a private market, which is simple and easy, it's basic free market economics. Their isn't anything to it, other then letting the companies compete with each other, and giving consumers choice. That isn't "too much, when he doesn't know much".

The issue with America is that people don't constantly buy insurance, for you to go straight into a free market. And you can't have a single payer system due to the insane costs and it's current debt.

Calling their current system complicated isn't a laughing matter.

Everyone knew healthcare was hard, that was why we were all so pissed when the Democrats rushed a huge bill that no one read through congress. We knew it would cause a huge mess that seems unfixable now.

Good luck Trump.
