What is your theory for success, ie, getting your shit done.

Fluctuate your effort. 1Giving it your best shot is often touted as the recipe for success, but what if we fluctuate between efforts well-within our best and efforts beyond our best? The Japanese proverb of only eating till 80% full comes to mind. If I take that 80% rule and apply it to exercise, learning a new language, practicing music, socializing etc. then I will view myself as being successful once I hit my 80% mark. In doing so, even on my bad days I’ll still be able to hit the same mark I do on my good days, perhaps leading to a more meta-goal of consistency. The only caveat is that one can not grow when always reaching within limits so somedays we should push ourselves beyond our current best. Renounce the idealism of 100%.

Do you have any systems in place that you use for success? Original or taken from other role-models?

Success is simply achieving ones goals. Those goals don't have to be defined by just having fame or fortune. They can be something as simple as happiness or just getting a job that they like etc.

I consider my life a resounding success because I achieved my goals.

Get things started and stay consistent, whatever it might be.

The most important step to success is getting clear with yourself about exactly what it is you want, and then having the courage to pursue it all out. You'll likely have some pretty rough days on the way there, but that's life, and you'll have those no matter what you do with your life....but you'll have a whole lot more of them if you're not actively pursuing your goals, whatever they may be. Success means a lot of different things to different people, but ultimately your life is your life, and as long as you find it fulfilling, and are taking steps to ensure you continue to find it fulfilling, then I'd say you can be content that you're successful in your own right.

Doing whatever I want, and not letting anybody stop me.

Recognize your faults and build on them.
Recognize what you do well and double down on it.
Don't blame others.
See what can be done, always.

Interest, application, effort. If you like something so do many other people. If you can't find a way to become successful through your interests, your interests are probably illegal.

Preparation is heavily over-rated. Know the difference between a goal and a system. The system will carry you to your goal and if it doesn't, then the system is broken. Fix it.

It's not about what happens to you in life, it's about how you react to the things that happen to you and how you grow as a person. You are a product of your environment and should be able to recognise success when you see it. Apply the successful points and remember the failures and hopefully when success hits, you don't plateau.

I don't know how old you are, but in your experience so far how much has resistance from close friends and family been a factor? Sometimes I notice people who ahve a lot of support from friends and family, and then others don't for whatever reason, making this statement an easier sell for some and not others.

Hey, nice one!

why is that picture blurred

I try, but I do have problems with anxiety, so I fluctuate badly between working very hard and procrastinating. I really set goals that are far too high, so I almost never reach them, but fortunately I'm still able to get what is needed done, even if I didn't do it nearly as well as I'd hoped.
