It turns out that Xenoblade 2 will not be worked on by the XCX team. This comes from NintendoEverything citing a tweet from the Co-founder of the localization company. There may be many reasons for this happening, but the primary Ican think of seems to be that they could not get it out fast enough. Assuming it is a small company, it took the months for the English localiztion to come out after the game had already been released in Japan.
As much as I feel bad for the team, and as much as I loved the localization efforts and VA's they brought in, the delay really was too long. Some people just spoiled the game for whatever reason. It would have been if maybe within one or two weeks after launch, but people started spoiling the Japanese version they didn't even play. With enthusiasm. Some people even put spoilers in their profile pics. Whether or not you even appreciated the story, it was problematic.
This also supports my previous theory that NOE is localizing which would be great as well.
