Maybe if you just don't suck... 'cause I never actually lost to her

Beatrix is love, Beatrix is life.

Beatrix, the coward that was more powerful that every single main character combined, yet she stood behind. Yeah, her. xD

She was too OP, she knew it would be no fun to get serious and just kill everything.
She was pretty nice to us guys, letting us play our game and feel like we were strong and cool.

You even get a second Save the Queen. All just for Amarant to throw. xD

When you say "3" I'm assuming you meant "6." Right.  Never finished either one.  I vaguely remember fighting Beatrix, but I remember she's a tough cookie.

No, when I say 3, I say Final Fantasy III. As in the numerical third entry for Japan. xD

I actually have that one for my PSP. Gotta get into it.

Be ready for an unbeatable boss then!

FFXV glitched out on me and made a boss unbeatable, so after wasting an hour constantly trying to get it to die I finally just accept defeat, and its a gameover...

FF Type 0 HD has multiple bosses in the first run through that is meant to beat u, but with enough skill and time you could beat them.

9 out of 10 boss battles suck with their scripted windows of invulnerability and silly weak spots. Fighting regular enemies while being slightly under powered is far more satisfying.

The worst is when you're pretty sure it's a boss battle where you're supposed to die as it seemingly isn't going anywhere after 20 minutes. (Those annoying fuckers that always heal when they get low) So you stop defending yourself and it's game over. But it was just a very slow long battle and you needed to go for 25 minutes before you trigger your death cut scene that advances the plot. Sorry died 5 minutes too early.

I don't mind boss puzzles, like in Zelda (to a certain point) and SotC, yet when you have a limited arsenal which you only end up wasting it's very annoying.

First time you fight Final Fantasy 3's final boss you can't win, but you sure as hell will waste all those precious shurikens like a fool.

You can't ever beat Beatrix in Final Fantasy IX, either. Worst part is that losing against her is a game over, so you gotta keep trying until she decides to finish the combat.

Strange. I don't remember struggling on the final boss, but i remember the final dungeon was a real pain (FF3).

I did play the remake on the DS though. Dunno if that is why. Loved that world map music though.

It's not really struggling, but there's a sequence where the boss has to defeat you yes or yes. You have no way to know this, not even the sequence hints at this. So of course you'll waste your precious items trying to take it down, but you won't be able to since you have to lose, which you can't really know. xD

Scripted battles always irritate me in RPGs. The inevitable loss boss type makes me wonder "why not a cut scene?" Beatrix was one reason I hated 9 - OP and rubbing it in your face repeatedly, and then phones it the fuck in when she decides to stoo antagonizing you. Unwinnable bullshit is a primary reason many of us have "save items for the credits" syndrome.

Almost as bad is the aforementioned FF Type Zero battles that, while feasible in a new game+, are still there to make you wonder when you started to suck during the first playthrough. The power level disparity between these enemies and regular bosses is absurd. I never finished the game because they're so demoralizing (the plot certainly wasn't keeping me invested either).

There were a bunch of instances in Witcher 3 where you're fighting an enemy, get them down to 15% health and are mid-swing to kill when magically the game decides other things will happen. The absolute worst involved some nameless low level shitlord knocking you out with a single punch because plot.

It is pretty annoying..

After a while I thought the Bravely Default boss was one of the unbeatable bosses when it kept on regenerating health so I gave up and got a game over.. Took a lot of time to fight all the way there too :/
