Forums - Gaming Discussion - I just cancelled my Switch Pre-Ordere

Just as the title says, I cancelled my preorder. I preordered a Switch on Best Buy the same day that Nintendo held the press conference, I ordered the Console, Breath of the Wild Special Edition and a Pro Controller, pricing for all of that was around $500. And then I thought, yes, Breath of the Wild is an AMAZING game and It'll look beautiful on the Switch, but that's it, really, I am not interested in any other game available, the only other game that caught my attention is Mario Odyssey and I'll have to wait until Christmas to buy it, so $500 to play a single game just doesn't make sense to me. What do you guys think, should  I have kept my preorder and shell out the $500?  BTW to calm my gaming thirst I am buying Horizon Zero Dawn on launch day :)       Ohhhh and this is my first post on VGC!!!

I agree with you, waiting till Super Mario Odyssey. The lineup till then does nothing for me. I can get BOTW on WiiU (I won't though cause I still have to play other Zelda games first.) I already own Mario Kart 8.... there's really nothing to entice me till the holidays.

Also by the end of the year they'll hopefully have ironed out any issues with Joycon signal, they'll have implemented all the online features, a web browser, virtual console and It'll be marginally cheaper too!

So yeah... I'll wait till it's not missing features and it has enough games for me too.

I mean it's your choice and nothing wrong with that, the mass majority of people don't by new consoles on the first day they're out. I pre ordered mine though cause I couldn't wait that long to play all the games coming out for the Switch in 2017.

Though you really arn't interested in any other games? Here's a list because I'm sure there are more that should peak your interest.

Ya, if Zelda & Mario Odyssey are the only announced games that really appeal to you than you should wait, its possible that you will be able to get it cheaper by the holidays as well.

For me personally there are like 20+ games i plan on getting this year so its well worth the price to me.

Pick one up on Black Friday, Zelda isn't going anywhere.

Can't say anything to you. If the only games you find interesting are Zelda and Mario, you should wait to buy the console. Aren't you interested in games like Splatoon 2, Mario Kart, Xenoblade or ARMS? They're pretty varied, so it's weird that you don't find any of these games a bit appealing.

making sure the hardware doesn't have any issues and making sure all the software runs well and getting a cheaper price on software and (maybe) hardware and being able to pick up more quality games.

Yeah, with this launch lineup, waiters are winners.

Maybe new games launched in the future will caught your interest. I usually regret most of the stuff I purchase, so, yeah, I will not judge =)

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

For me, I've gotten decent use out of all my Nintendo systems. I'm not really dying to play anything at launch (except Zelda which is on Wii U as well), but I know I'm going to want one eventually, and it's worth the extra 50 bucks or so I might pay to get it while it's new and hypey.

Sounds good, by then you could see a price drop/Mario bundle, along the way there could be more games that catch your eye, no harm at all to wait
