Since not everyone knows it and because your post is as good as any to mention it: Using the 3DS as the bar is reaching for the stars, because the 3DS holds the record for the highest sales within the first twelve months of launch by a comfortable margin. It did ~5m.

Maybe I'm not understanding you, but 3DS sold more in the first 12 months and sold less than the Wii did. It sold 3.6 million as of March 31, 2011 and then sold another 13.5 million in its first full fiscal year. The Wii sold 18 million in its first full fiscal year. But again, maybe I'm not understanding what you're saying.

Assuming that nintendo has enough switches available for splatoon 2's launch and we include the bundle... can anyone see the switch doing over 150k that week alone?

Yes, I think it could actually sell 200k but stock issues won't allow that.

Let's hope Nintendo can Inkrease the production in time for Splatoon 2's launch

God, Nintendos stock management is terrible. I get that they are probably holding stock back for Splatoon launch and week 2/3 but damn this stock situation is hard to watch. Hopefully they can at least deliver the 80k for ARMS launch.

Disappointed in Nintendo. I get that it's not easy to calculate stock ... but 20ks only for Japan? For almost a month now? Really?

Do they ever have meetings beforehand where they discuss what to do if a product is more successful than their internal tracking indicates? Because it just seems like they are completely caught with their pants down every time this happens without any kind of back up plan.

We will have to see how the situation evolves worldwide. It may simply be that Nintendo is so out of production ressources they simply can't allocate more to Japan without crippling the other regions' sales

Pretty good considering non-holiday season + no games have come out yet that are system sellers in Japan. When Splatoon, Monster Hunter, Animal Crossing, Yo-Kai, Pokemon Dragon Quest, even Kirby(?) drops....expecting more than 20 million lifetime

27k this week, I hope it doesn't dip down below 25k again
