How much greedy? More then Sony which dropped PS Vita first party title support long ago even in JP where it still sells? Or the PS TV thing?

The Wii U showed more then any other console in history how they Nintendo is willing to please their loyal fans.

I don't know about any other console that had 4 years of first party support selling only 13m, yet people insists on portray the WiiU like a proof of Nintendo betraying their fans which is hilarious, they are even releasing BoTW on WiiU despite the fact that it doesn't make a lot of sense from a finantial pov, but we already know how deeply dumb internet wisdom can be, specially inside gaming comunity.

Most people don't get it HOW MUCH internal FLASH costs as it is first class flash as in SSDs. The least valuable Flash goes into those cheap USB sticks. SD cards range from USB stick to internal Flash depending how much you pay...

It was very wise from Nintendo to let the consumer decide what they might need and buy accordingly. Which makes even more sense as Flash prices tend to fall every year.

Does it make sense for me to pay 128 GB internal flash? Not at all. For the coming twelve months I don't need them and I might end up with 256 GB (as on the Wii U) in some years.

Its Sony and Microsoft who practice cheap'n'greedy by selling slow rotating drives instead of SSDs...

These long replies are rough on me, but here is another reply, even though I probably won't touch on everything you say.

A. I agree that other companies are not doing everything right. I just feel that Nintendo is the worst offender lately.

Understandable.

B. I agree. I think this Zelda should have remained a Wii U exclusive in fact. I think Switch should have waited another year too.

No way. The more people who can play the latest Zelda, the better! I would have loved BotW on PC and have a modding scene crop up around it. That would be amazing! Even more amazing if Nintendo went third party and brought their games to all platforms but this business doesn't work that way, sadly.

I'll definitely be looking into WiiU emulation soon actually so I may get to play it on PC yet. Modders, get on that shit and mod the fuck out of the latest Zelda!

D. I read a rumor that production has ended on NES Mini, but I was talking about keeping up with demand before now, mainly.

I'd suggest you rely more on official announcements and less on rumors.

E. Nintendo had better be on better terms with 3rd parties or Switch will be another Wii U.

They seem to be doing the right things.

Cheaper dev kits: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/02/nintendo_switch_dev_kits_are_nice_and_affordable_according_to_reports_from_game_creators_conference

And the Switch being easier to port/develop to/for: http://nintendoswitchnetwork.com/tag/nintendo-switch-easy-to-port-to/ and the addition of Unreal Engine 4 which I've read is a very popular engine: http://gamingbolt.com/unreal-engine-4-update-adds-official-nintendo-switch-support

Good first steps.

F. Well, I am speaking of console gaming. But the money could be spent better on many things: A computer, rent, phone bill, feeding the poor, a new couch, put it toward college or save it, etc.

A computer for gaming as well as a plethora of other tasks and hobbies!

Thanks for taking the time for such a long reply!

No problem!

Well, the majority is agreeing with me in the polls. Not to brag, just to point out that my idiocy is apparently not as bad as you think. Oh, and you are not my boss. I will follow what the staff and moderators want, not you.

Ummmm.....There is something called Common sense? Or did that cease to exist in people these days? 'A little greedy' is more closer to not being greedy than being all out greedy, so the statement you made there is completely false statement right there. If you didn't have the 'little' option all those people would've voted no.

Also......troll thread? Either that or I'm assuming you have no idea what you are saying. Or you are a Nintendo hater and tried to piss off a certain person for your own amusement. Please don't be  'that person'. Even if your ridiculous and objectively inferior opinions are something that you truly feel, please don't post them if you know  you will infuriate people.

You don't know what the others would have voted if I didn't give the 3rd option. I don't either. It could have went either way. Also, I did not insult you or any poster here. "ridiculous and objectively inferior opinions." There was no need for those insults.

There is truth there, especially MS, I think. But it seems they have learned.

Thats goes for Sony to, their whole managing Vita, still no PS1 games on PS4, very limited PS2 games, if you want bigger storage you need to change whole HDD..

Sony could do better. The only one of these points that anger me is their treatment of Vita and their owners. Only 3rd parties are keeping it alive. However, who will keep Wii U alive? Indies? I doubt it. Vita will continue to go on. Wii U will die soon unless Nintendo does something. They should support it with at least 3 more games this year. Zelda for quarter 1. Other games for the other 3 quarters. That would reach 5 years.

Synopsis: I'm hella angry cause Nintendo is about to succeed big time and to deliver the potential best game of the gen in just few days so let's make a thread to convince people they don't buy it by using a mix of nitpicky, questionable and random arguments.

Well, I did have doubt. I thought that was crazy, but after the not having a power cord for 3DS XL, there was that chance!

so you stated alot of "facts" without doing any research... be careful.. this is how presidents get made

To be honest, I did go on facts from memory, some just memory, and the headphone jack, I messed up on. There is still a lot of truth here I think.

I know this post will probably anger some Nintendo fans, but if you read all of this, you may agree.  I hope not to anger anyone though. I want to expose some dirty Nintendo practices and hopefully convince some to buy better else where. There are so many wrongs that Nintendo does against their customers. I believe in fair profit and business. I think they are too greedy and take advantage of their customers; especially their most loyal fans. This is no troll post. I honestly believe this, and here are my key points and some ranting:

1. This is the worst. No power cord for 3DS XL. I can only imagine how many people (especially parents that buy for children) bring home their already highly expensive handheld, just to discover that no power cable comes with it. It is not an optional purchase. It is mandatory for the system to work! Back out to the store to buy the power cord and possibly more gas.  For those parents " Sorry little Johnny, stop crying. I didn't know! Daddy will be back in a half an hour or so with the power cord. Oh wait, the store is about to close. You can just look at it's highly reflective screen until I get home from work tomorrow."

2. No powerful hardware for their home consoles. Only gimmicks to excuse making cheap hardware for large cost. They struck it rich with Wii and have been doing it since. Even the GameCube had no DVDCD player, unlike PS2 and Xbox. Well, I'm not sure about Xbox with DVD's, but it could play CD's, I think. Plus Xbox was the most powerful of it's generation and had a hard drive.

3. No good launch lineup for Switch. Nintendo offers one big game that is available for their last generation console as well.

4. No more support for Wii U. After Zelda, I think that is it for big titles. Can you guys name any? I think any big game company like Nintendo, that has billions in the bank, should support their consoles and customers, for at least 5 years. I can understand why Sega abandoned Dreamcast. They were in money trouble. One of Sega's top people had to put his personal funds into Sega to help his company. Nintendo could at least port Super Mario Odyssey to Wii U, since no proper 3D sequel to Super Mario Galaxy was made for Wii U.

5. I just read on here, in another forum post, no headphone jack for Switch. Is that really true?! If so, I'm almost shocked. "Turn that annoying game sound down! I can't hear the TV, youngun. But daddy, I can't hear what's going on if I turn it down. It's portable son, right? Go outside and play it. B but what about the 2 feet of snow, 20 degrees, strangers and wild pit bulls?"

6. No Virtual Console at launch. Details later as usual.

7. No Metroid announced for Switch. How much do fans have to beg?

8. No more preorders for Switch at many locations. Are they creating more demand like was rumored with the original Wii?

9. No to making enough Nes Minis to meet demand. The same question as in #8.

10. No price cuts for 3DS or Wii U in a long time. Maybe if Nintendo had not been so greedy with Wii U, it might have sold a lot more and made their money back with game sales along with the Wii U purchases like MS and Sony has done.

11. No Nintendo Direct for Switch. Even though I own no Nintendo systems, even I enjoy Nintendo Directs. I think many ppl do. Ever since Iwata passed, there have been very few. I miss Iwata BTW. I did not agree with many of his business decisions, but the guy was likable.

12. No decent prices. The pro controller and Joycons are priced out of the range of many people. The price of the Switch, a pro controller, an extra Joycon set for just on extra player, and a game... (Passes out.)

13. No pack in game! Next to having no power cord for 3DS XL, this is the worst. 1, 2 Switch would have been an ideal pack in from what I've read. A game to showcase what the Switch can do. No pack in game makes little sense even for Nintendo. That will bar some from even buying a Switch. Those that are poor will have little incentive to buy the switch when the $300 price tag is already high. Sony and MS offer more powerful consoles with a game at the same price.

14. No hard drive for Switch. Want to download Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2. Well too bad! It is a 32 gigabyte download. The same as the switch internal memory. Of course that internal memory won't be all free. Some will be used for the system. Even if it was all free, there would not be any space to save a game. I understand it's part portable, but couldn't they have gotten it up to 128 gigs? A lot can be stored on a tiny card now. Greedy again, Nintendo. I guess you can add the possible cost for an SD card to #12... (passes out again.)

Well, I think that should be enough points to convince anyone but the most diehard Nintendo fans about the greed and disappointment of Nintendo. I could go all the way back to the NES days and point out greedy practices against 3rd parties as well as other things, but it would take too long for me. The Nintendo seal of quality has indeed been broken, in my opinion. Sony and Microsoft have better in store for your gaming dollars guys. Think about it.

I worked on the Switch, may I apologize if you're hurt, but here is my point of view and how Nintendo made everything it could do to have the best technology for the cheapest cost:

1. Smartphones (and R5) killed handhelds, and Wii U was a failure: Here is the Switch.

Best miniaturisation ever : Switch components are 500$ in a 300$ console with contracts for 50 million Switch (They will lost money if the Switch don't sell that much).

2. "No power cord for 3DS XL": Nintendo dones't care about 3DS backward compatibility. "Expensive hanheld"? Are you born in the third world?

3. Nope! 360/PS3, One/PS4 had no good games at launch, learn your're history! It takes at least one year to have some good games, not at launch.

4. Wii U is dead for Nintendo and they don't care about retrocompatiblility! Full stop.

5. Headphones? Just use your smartphone! No jack required!

6.  "Virtual Console" is weak in sales, Switch was a lot of efforts and they dicided to postpon it: the Switch console is a HUGE effort.

7. "No more preorders for Switch at many locations.": They thought the Switch would sell 2 millions in a month from launch, but the pre-orders are on Wii level and it is hard to keep up with the demand. They should have made at least 3 millions instead of 2 millions.

8. Metroid: not too far, don't worry, they're working on it.

9. "No decent prices. The pro controller and Joycons are priced out of the range of many people": Nintendo is selling eveything at cost! I hate people thinking they are greedy! The make no money at all on the Switch! The tech is high end, even if you don't see it and think the PS4 is more powerfull! Just don't be so childish: Wii Motion ++, IR, cam, HD rumble, etc. Don't tel me the PS4 controller has it! The Swith may be less powerfull, but nevertheless it has extermely hight end tech along it. I'm fed up with people saying "too expensive": that's too expesive for GPU-freaks, not for real gamers!

10. "No pack in game": So what? Did you show your hand to have a coin in the street? God said you had to have one? Nintendo wantted to give all third paties the same chance, so no pack-in game, that's just all.

11. "hard drive": useless, no need of one (or maybe would you have prefered to buy the Switch for 350$ instead of 300$?). Cartridges are enough and DL is not the priority of Nintendo.

May I just say one last thing: No Greed, just stuff that you don't want: Nintendo is selling at no profit, and I can swear it, being and insider.

There is no sensitive information in what you just wrote, so you can say more about your position than just an "insider". Do you make games for it?
