It you look at the situation in Europe where thousands of terrorists and millions of illegal immigrants rule the streets and people, especially women fear to leave their homes because there are violent attacks and rape attempts in the local news daily, you will understand that Trump is the good guy.

Dude come off it. No one in europe is ruled by terrorists and illegal immigrants. Women are perfectly fine with leaving their houses and there are no violent rape attempts and attacks on the local news daily. Pointing to another region people are not as familiar with and might not put in the research about and just making shit up about it, to sway public opinion is not ok. If that is how you want the press to work than either you haven't understood the values of freedom of speach and actual journalism ethics or you have thinly veiled distain for them.

You say you want unbiased reporting and then you proceed to perpetuate falsehood after falsehood. You are the one making shit up and trying to get away with it. Much like Trump. It's him and his administration that create actual 'fake news'.

If this was reversed and Hilary Clinton was president and banning the conservative press, calling for a war on the press, etc. one month into her presidency for asking too many questions about her emails, the Republicans would be crying bloody murder and probably calling for armed revolt and impeachment.

Hypocrites the lot of them who silently will sit by now and say nothing.

Sooo, what did you have to say about this since you're calling hypocrite:   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/24/obama-press-pac-reporters-president-white-house_n_5618220.html

Now mind you I didn't say you were wrong but I suspect you're just as big a hypocrite as anyone else.

Here is another example probably closer to what Trump has done: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=6156794&page=1

Two pretty poor examples.
He didn't invite ANY journalists to that event. That's a huge difference to only inviting those who write favourably about you.
The second links refers to a time where Obama wasn't even president. This thread is about Trump, as president of the US and thus part of the government and his team doing that stuff.

Th American News Media complex is certainly a gem.

CNN became the FOX news of the democrats but on even lower standards. They openly promote his assassination all day long and should be closed. And the other media are owned by people that wand to get rid of Trump at all cost and whatever it takes, they force their writers to wite extremely negative articles and to make up stories to take him down.

Unfortunately independent or neutral media does not exist anymore which makes it almost impossible to make an informed decision. Because Breitbart and Infowars provide a great contrast but they are not neutral either. So you have to do all the journalistic work youself because you cannot trust the media any longer.

Those are not even close, Infowars isn't even news at all and Breitbart is hardly even journalism. It's not hard btw to be critical of Trump, I don't think the writers need to do much effort on their part.

I don't want to argue with you, I just wanna stress I support destroying the Department of Education.

That will be one of Trump's greatest accomplishments if that happens.

I've never understood this, but why is the DOE always the target for destruction, when their job is to provide public education for the masses? Please explain.

I think John Stossel sums it up well.

"The department doesn’t teach kids or pay teachers. It comes up with studies, test requirements, and one-size-fits-all rules that limit what schools can do if they want federal money. That money gets taken from states and shipped to Washington, D.C., which then ships it back to states if they do something the department likes. On that long journey, plenty of the money disappears into the hands of bureaucrats.

Turn education back over to local governments, the way it was not so long ago. Let entrepreneurs and local governments compete to improve schools."

Crazy how many defend these decisions. Yes, CNN and the likes talk a lot of shit but so do those who Trump "recommends"

Fox, Breitbart and whatever do also talk shit every single day and it is absolutely better to have news from all sides as when you only get news in the future supporting Trump and doing what he wants them to do.

Look at all the countries where the media is controlled like Trump wants it to do as well. To think USA should follow these countries is just insane.

Some of you guys want USA to be a country where the president decides which news you get and with that a manipulation of the people to believe everything he wants you to believe. That's like asking for a dictatorship.

In theory Trump could be a good guy who would really only control it to let people hear the truth. But to accept the risk that this will change to something horrible is just stupid. He doesn't block CNN and NYT but support FOX and others because FOX is truth and CNN is fake.

Media has an issue...

If the go full anti trump people lose the idea that media is objective as well.

But you are contradicting yourself if you say that you want a free press IF they are truthful, which is highly subjective. Obama absolutely hated Fox news but never banned them from getting access in public forums. All media at all times are influenced by different ideologies, it's impossible for any entity to be neutral. They do aim to be objective though, even Fox news. And the moment people in power dictate what is "true" in medias reporting, then we don't have free press anymore.

How do you know CNN has been lying when we have verifiable facts that the Trump administration constantly lies? Who in that case determines if the press are lying?

It never fails, Republicans and their double standards.

George W. Bush = engages in an illegal war in Iraq that kills tens of thousands of people, collapses the entire global economy, has 9/11 happen on his watch

Bill Clinton = got a consenting blow job while in office

Guess which of the two they tried to impeach.

A lot od Democrats supported the Iraq War too, so it's not surprising that he wouldn't be impeached.
