That there are actually people trying to excuse an attempt to directly control and manipulate the press by the government is fucking frightening.

I'm not actually sure which is more frightening. The White House trying to get away with it, or other people actually supporting it.

Not just supporting it - but defending it.

Of course they'll defend it. This place is full of fascists. Trump and Bannon and literally trying to uproot everything that makes America, America. If a president wants to slim down to media outlets that will only play ball and kiss ass, then do you think that's a person fit to run the country you live in? this is supposed to be a tough position. but Trump seems to want to bypass all that and become a new king. We shook those off almost 250 years ago, excuse us if we're not looking forward to that again.

The press has gone too far with their campaign against Trump. If they purposely lie to the public and disobey to journalistic standards (like the so called fact checkers that claim one-sided, unproven and ideologically colored opinions to be facts) they should be held accountable because they threaten democracy.

I am a fan of free and critical press if it stays truthful, fair and honest. But here they want to destroy him and his family with whatever it takes and this goes way too far.

The press should let him do his work and criticize the results where necessary instead of spreading pure hate. He really and honestly plans to make life better and safer for everyone and this should be honored instead of being sabotaged.

And I really cannot believe that so many people here believe the bullshit written by the media about him. If you watch his speeches or conferences and read the news afterwards you will see that they are outright lying or making things up. They not only put things out of context, they often make things up and provide extremely negative headlines about things he never said or meant this way.

Instead of attacking Trump on a personal level and writing 99,9% negative artickles about him, the media should do their job and report abput the massive immigrant riots in France https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJXvHRsjzBQ , but they want to hide the truth and bring along their own political agenda.

I'm afraid to click on your link. Especially if its infowars that says aliens are real real and juices make people gay. Hahaha Tell me what can you do when the POTUS is a bumbling baffoon that cancels calls midway with world leaders especially allies. Tell me what can you do when he claims he had the biggest electoral win since reagent when google can show you that Obama bush Clinton all had bigger wins and then instead of apologizing says that's what I heard. If you seriously heard it then you could have simply googled to check the fact. You use twitter all the time but not google? Tell me what can you do if his administration creates faux attacks all the time like bowling green and Sweden. Tell me what can you do when he lies 133 times in 34 days. Tell me what can you do when he wants to involve his family which is also running his business in matters of the state? Also I don't think Russia is evil like americans do and USA might be just if not more "evil" then Russia but you do not as a leader of your country talk about how your country is not so innocent in a talkshow on TV. Even the leader of Burma and Israel wouldn't do that nor would Modi or The leader of Saudi Arabia whoever whoever he is nor would Putin or Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan. Basically as a leader of your nation, the least you can do is not make your country a joke on the international level but that's what he has done. And the French riot thing is fake I know because I googled it and guess what, only brietbart came up

I'd care more if those news outlets didn't suck ass. They can still piss and moan about Trump whether they attend or not.

7. Make the secretary of education a woman to wants to defund public schools

I don't want to argue with you, I just wanna stress I support destroying the Department of Education.

That will be one of Trump's greatest accomplishments if that happens.

I hate the biased media as much as anyone, but this post is crap.  Did Fox news ever say anything positive about Obama? If anything, there's no comparison because Trump is actually doing things that deserve criticism.  Costing us millions of dollars so trump can have three different homes.  Single page briefings.  Ultra libertarian cabinet picks.  Ties with Russia to help get him elected. Actively pushing his business interests ILLEGALLY while in office...

You guys will literally hang a liberal for the smallest of criticisms, but when it comes to a republican, they can't stoop low enough.

Heck, there was that Breitbart reporter who FINALLY had to resign after he tried to advocate the benefits of pedophilia...  This was a guy who'd been actively testing the limits of what was politically incorrect for years.  Pedophilia was the breaking point for republicans...

Take Bill O'Reilly as another example.  His own children testified in court that he abused his wife.  Why can't we get rid of him?

And people were saying I was overreacting back when I was comparing his campaign tactics to Hitlers.
Trump has made an art of being constantly underestimated and disguising his true motives by shouting gibberish and appealing to the lowest commom denominator. Wether this is smartly calculated strategy or he's just criminally insane, this man is dangerous and the US is headed into dictatorship if they don't stop him now.

Restricting freedom of press is the first step. This is textbook.

But you are contradicting yourself if you say that you want a free press IF they are truthful, which is highly subjective. Obama absolutely hated Fox news but never banned them from getting access in public forums. All media at all times are influenced by different ideologies, it's impossible for any entity to be neutral. They do aim to be objective though, even Fox news. And the moment people in power dictate what is "true" in medias reporting, then we don't have free press anymore.

How do you know CNN has been lying when we have verifiable facts that the Trump administration constantly lies? Who in that case determines if the press are lying?

I've never understood this, but why is the DOE always the target for destruction, when their job is to provide public education for the masses? Please explain.

It never fails, Republicans and their double standards.

George W. Bush = engages in an illegal war in Iraq that kills tens of thousands of people, collapses the entire global economy, has 9/11 happen on his watch

Bill Clinton = got a consenting blow job while in office

Guess which of the two they tried to impeach.
