Some reviewers said that they can't play Zelda with the Joy Cons, and that the pro controller is necessary because of this. If this can't be solved before launch, it is a big deal. The Switch becomes a $370 nude console because of the mandatory pro controller.

You are jumping to conclusions. Maybe it can be fixed with a day one patch. Maybe it's just a minor problem for most people.

Remember when the rubber came off of the Dualshock 4 sticks at PS4 launch? Most people didn't think it was a huge issue and found a way to work around it. Remember "antenna-gate" with the iPhone 4? Same story. And same here: Most people will turn to a different sitting position so the Joy-Con isn't covered or move the Switch to a different place and the problem will be solved. The worst case scenario is that Nintendo will have to replace left joy-cons for free with a hardware revision for those people who complain. We simply don't know.

I did say "If this can't be solved before launch"...

And this potential issue is nowhere near the DS4 sticks. I bought sticks protection for a couple of euros just in case, and that's it. A controller not working is a lot more problematic and potentially a lot more expensive. The antenna gate might be closer, but it was pretty bad for Apple at the time.

We'll see what Nintendo will/can do about it.

If this issue persists and it's not possible to boost that bluetooth signal... Nintendo should give everyone a free Pro controller

Sure. Hey, I'm not suggesting everything is sugar and honey. This could be a problem. Guess I'm just mad that some people seem to gloat every time a competitor's product has some sort of defect (I know it goes both ways) and a lot of times the internet blows things out of proportion. I own one of the new "touch bar" Macbook Pro's and everyone said the keyboard was so horrible it was almost unusable (I write at least 1,000 words on my notebook every day). Got the laptop and the keyboard is totally fine. They also said the battery dies withint 3 hours - it doesn't, it lasts all day. When the PSP released the battery life was sooo bad (3-5 hours) that you really weren't supposed to buy it (bought a PSP, never had a problem with battery life). Same happened with the 3DS, Vita and now the Switch (Sony fans conveniently seem to forget that their portable consoles have the same battery life as Nintendo's, and vice versa!). When I bought my Xbox 360 and the DVD drive was dead Microsoft fans said it wasn't a big deal ("if I like the product any issue is a non-issue").

Lots of stuff I know. I just think we shouldn't jump to conclusions prematurely.

(BTW: I remember when I bought my PSP Go and the PSN was down for a month lol. Now that was a real problem for a download-only console with no pre-installed games.)

DOA confirmed.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Shoot! i forget it was sony fans that invent stability update meme. Dem sony fans have no manner at all.

Anywayyy i'm more worried abt the lack of communication from nintendo. Lets just hope 7 days are enough to fix this problem

Both sides feed off each other, the worse people make out a problem to be, the stronger the fans defend the problem, which prompts people to make an even bigger deal out of the problem. Because people try so hard to defend and brush off certain issues the people on the other side exaggerate the problem and make a bigger deal out of it, and vice-versa.

Sarcastic jokes such as "DOA CONFIRMED" just incite more annoyance among these certain people. One side wants the other to admit there's a problem instead of being what they percieve as dismissive, blind and biased. The other side is tired of people speaking negatively about something they love, or want to love.

Watched the GameXplain video. Looks like both Joy-Cons are as faulty as a Wii Remote that is exposed to bright sunlight. Makes this a non-issue for everyone who understands how the technology works.

So you're saying it's a huge issue for everyone?

if the definition of 'huge problem' is you are too huge to move closer to the TV, yeah.. it is huge.. for the rest of us.. we just move a bit closer..
also, huge

there is no problem, just people that don't understand tech

Hmm... Seems to work fine unless you cover the joycon with your hand...

Whatever the case, Nintendo should definitely look into this.

In the meantime, good time for Nintendo to make the WiiU gamepad backwards compatible *wink wink nudge nudge*
