i read that it only dropped 2% over 8 hours.

That is very good to hear if it's true! I like to just have my 3DS lying around next to me to pick up and play a little bit every once and a while, and I'd like to do the same with the Switch.

i would post the link but unfortunately i dont remember where i read it at

The Vita lasts 1 hour more with Uncharted: GA.

i have read 3:30, that's around 40 minutes not 60, and Uncharted is not even close to open world, let's see how non-open world games like Martio oddissey or MK8 perform.

3hr47min to be exact. There's a test out there. So, 59min. Zelda is still an offline game. Playing on wifi will consume more juice.

Well, I'm sure lots of outlets will be mentioning it when they release their official Switch hardware reviews.

Expected but disappointing, hopefully there is some energy saver mode to help lengthen battery time

That's not the same test I found, but there were more intensive games on Vita, just take a look at Killzone Mercenary

2h -2.5h of battery. Offline. Lol. That's less than Zelda on Switch and a similar thing happens with games like Freedom Wars

I highly doubt Splatoon drains battery as fast as zelda despite the Wifi, same as MK8. But we'll see that very soon.

I guess that's why they call it a hybrid,  cause it's not very portable.

Some Vita games last less than 2.5 hours and some 3ds games around 3h, are Vita and 3ds hybrids?

Remember there are 2 different Vita's, the original and the slim. The original like mine is quoted as 3.5-4hrs normal runtime but the slim is up to 6hrs. Also some of the reports of low runtime for the original Vita are those who play the system on full brightness, wifi and have had their system sometime so battery capacity has fallen. We haven't yet seen those figures for Switch yet.

I love my Vita because of the amazing OLED display but personally I think 4 hours should be the bare minimum for a portable under all conditions it's something my Vita, original 3DS and the Switch fails at. I used to love the long battery life of my DS lite. You could take it away for a day trip and never worry about charging it knowing you'd have use of it for all travelling and some bonus time too. Also I remember the screen of the DS lite being much better in the sun maybe because of the clamshell design meaning I could protect it from reflections etc. It was just a go anywhere, use anywhere device.

Thinking about future revisions of the Switch I'd personally like a smaller screen I think with more work on making it a better portable without losing the home console experience.
