If it was the Special edition, it was getting he would have just said so.
By him going "I cant say", it sounds like its just getting the old plain version.

Maybe it ll have some of the things the special edition does but not all, else why not just admit to it being the new special edition?

To me this reads as "We currently have the regular edition running on the switch, and we're trying to add as many special edition features as possible between now and release"

The difference between the normal Skyrim and the special edition is not really big. A few textures and some shaders that need to be rewritten for the Switch anyway because the system is far too weak to handle all the effects. In no way the special edition is a remaster.

Therefore the Switch will likely receive a Switch edition which is somewhere inbetween regarding graphics.

Well why didn't they just say Skyrim was coming to Switch immediatly after the reveal trailer. They probably have their reasons, even if they don't make much sense to us yet. You could also say: Why not just admit it's the plain version? People will find out anyway. Maybe it's a third version.
