Walmart has 5,332 stores in the US as of January 31st, 2017 and this does not count stores currently under construction.

*Edit: 6,300 is the global count.

Those stores include various non-supercenter stores, most of which don't sell game products.

Theres over 3400 Walmart Supercenters in the US

Every store with over 20 pre-orders is getting 15 extra. Below that looks like they are getting 10.

So my store is getting 45 total. A store down the street is getting 55 total.

As far as I know most stores as busy as mine got between a 30-40 limit.

Not sure what you can do with this, but there you go.

Oh, across the board on average all stores got more than 20 pre-orders each.

This does not include our online options or international Walmarts.

So wait, are you saying you were originally getting a preorder allotment + a launch day allotment and now they've upped the launch day allotment by 15?  If so, how big was the initial allotment?

Per launch? How many times is Nintendo intending to launch this thing?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

The only Wal-Mart stores that don't sell electronics are the Neighborhood Markets, which total at 699, so the number of Wal-Mart stores that could potentially recieve the Switch is 4733. The Wal-Mart Sams Club, Small Format, and Discount stores all sell electronics and video games, just likely not as much.

As a teen I worked at a location that was Small Format and converted to a SuperCenter.

So yes, the number at 5,332 does not all sell games. The question was how many stores are their, not how many sell games, even though it was partially implied due to the nature of the OP's post. :)

As many as it takes to beat the ouya.

@Raistline

All Walmarts other than NM's sell games.   Plus who knows what online is getting.

We do need someone to ask gamestop what their preorders are. I may stop into a few stores later today and try to ge them to tell me.

You forget the great "circle of life". They will lie to you about whether or not they have a new copy of the game you're looking for.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

Yes, that is what I said in my last post. Well okay, I said electronics, but that implies games.

So, if this is true why are stores not taking more preorders?
