Forums - Gaming Discussion - Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy may not be a PS4 exclusive

Not a fan of this coming to other platforms. I know it Activisions property, and they can do what they want, but it feels shady to me. I think if they had some decency, they would sell Crash and Spyro back to Naughty Dog and Insomniac. Then they could get the respe t they deserve and th creators could have a say in where the games end up.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Well these are remakes so technically the remake isn't made by ND.

So you hate more people being able to enjoy it? That's just sad.

If I remember correctly, Naughty Dog never owned Crash or Spyro. They were Universal properties and ND just developed the games for them. It sucks though because the characters themselves weren't really that great. It was ND's creativity and hard work that made the franchises classic.

Hah, I called it.

Its not developed or published by Sony, Activision is not motivated to make Sony exclusives, AND the IP would be available to a bigger audience as a multiplat.

Wonder how long the exclusivity is for, I want this on X1.

The 3 games being remastered are still published and owned by Sony though. And the IP has been kinda shitty since it became multiplatform, so it's not always a great thing for success.

I could see a later release on PC as part of the deal with Activision (Sony themselves published a couple of games on Steam IIRC), but it would be weird for Sony to agree with an Xbox or Switch release.

Anyway, the first tweet by Playstation Ireland wasn't a good proof of exclusivity, this one isn't a good proof for non-exclusivity either. Let's wait and see.

If this remaster comes to any other console, then Sony may not own anything. If anything, maybe Sony owns the PS1 ROMs but still needs licensing from Activision to sell them.

The IP didn't get bad because of multiplat, that makes no sense. As if ports somehow dilutes the enjoyment. Exclusvies can be bad games as well.

If there was no chance of this coming to Xbox and Switch, Sony would say it. They made that clear with Street Fighter V.
