Vulkan is also able to better distribute work amongst multiple CPU cores. but im not sure where it hits the wall.
Vulkan makes DX11 obsolete.

This bodes well for the PS5.

There technically isn't a wall.
Vulkan has been seen scaling well to even 16 cores.

It's the game engine that is one of the biggest limitation these days.

Take EA for instance... They have been using Frostbite 3 since 2013, 4 years ago... And since then the graphics in their games haven't taken any big strides, Art has improved though, massively.

They would need a new game engine that leverages all the shiny new tech, use more CPU cores to really take things to the next level.

still not biting.

1080TI on march 3rd however, now that has my interest.

Good to hear. Still waiting for non cherry picked results before i buy in. Gonna be upgrading my 5960x again this year and id love to go back to AMD but they gotta be competitive. Still sitting on my Tri Fury X cards waiting to hear more about Vega. Ive almost bought a few Titan Xs several times now but just cant bite the bullet and go Nvidia just yet. I sure hope AMD can turn it around. Ive been running their systems from the Athlon days all the way until core 2 duo when it was no longer justifiable. Its been a long 10 years on the Intel side of the bandwagon and I want to change back. Hopefully Ryzen is just as good as it looks!

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

Seriously. That thing should undervolt stupidly well, it would make an amazing chip to drop into an ITX HTPC box.

Plus the new coolers look cool. Wonder how good they sound. (Or lack-therof.) The Phenom's and FX (Non-wraith) sounded like Jet Engines.

The only annoying part is the mid-range motherboard chipsets, hopefully AMD drops a high-end chipset later on.
