Damn, may have to build an all AMD desktop like back in the day. Granted back then it was an AMD CPU and ATI GPU. Still you get the point.

hopefully vega delivers too. we get more details on vega at GDC

God I just want to see all of the benches already T_T

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

It’s only been a few hours since AMD announced its exciting new Ryzen 7 processors and they’re already Amazon’s best selling CPUs. The $499 Ryzen 7 1800X and $399 Ryzen 7 1700X CPUs already occupy the first and second spots on Amazon’s best sellers list for CPUs.

Across the pond on Amazon.co.uk Ryzen processors occupy the top 3 spots. There’s clearly an immense pent-up demand for more affordable high performance desktop CPUs. It’s also very clear that the markets appetite for high core count processors is healthier than it has ever been.

Vega should be a massive step up over Polaris, AMD is adopting a ton of similar tech that has allowed nVidia to have the edge since Maxwell.

Price/Performance is ultimately more important than just sheer performance for the majority of consumers, so it's not at all surprising.

But it is good news for AMD, they needed a ton of success to drive sales and get them profitable.

I am hoping the transition to 7nm is a quick one, 8-core Ryzen at a much lower powerlevel? (HTPC anyone?)

If only cores mattered in gaming.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Damn that is amazing! wonder when theyll launch in India and what theyll retail for.

Unfortunately, it hits a wall at about six cores with dx12 but amd is prepping for future as they should be.

Doesn't matter really. The good thing about having more cores than a game actually needs is... You can run other things at the same time without any slow-down at all.
Xsplit, Music Playback, Twitch, Encoding, Skype, Virus Scanner, OS Background tasks and more whilst playing a game? Not a problem.

It's why I have had a 6-core processor or better since 2010, 7 years ago, because even though allot of apps only use 2-4 cores... I can run multiples of them.
