All paper mario sequels have been "true" paper mario sequels. it just so happens that some games are bad.

Nintendo has stated that they wanted to take each of their spinoff titles in their own direction, with the Mario and Luigi games having the biggest focus on story and battle mechanics. so the "true Paper Mario sequel" game you keep asking for is already here, it just isnt paper mario.

Well Paper Mario in general, I really enjoyed Colour Splash, it had amazing graphics and dialogue.

If it was developped by another studio like Silicon Studios, Monolith, level 5 or SE.
Maybe. But by Nintendo? No. They are just dumbing down and dumbing down every series they have.
