Resident Evil 4.

Easily, I didn't like The Last of Us. I never finished either game, but at least I didn't finish RE4 simply because my Wii had to be moved and it got inconvenient, while I never finished TLoU because I got bored and it's AI got unintelligent. Game's a total step-down from Uncharted.

The Last of Us

The Last of us just shades it.

I guess I can't really answer because I didn't play RE4 when it was current gen. And I think you have to play a game in its prime to properly judge it's greatness, as technology limits creativity and creative expression in this medium.

TLOU, only a few other games (SotC, Journey, MGS3) had me thinking about them weeks after finishing. The empty feeling that nothing you watch/play will top it was pretty intensive. That summer of 2013 all I could think about was TLOU.

Neither. RE4 destroyed classic RE and The Last of Us (of which I own) is basically just an interactive movie. I personally hate one of those games and dislike the other because of the type of game it is.

Having said that, I am not biased enough that I can't see how TLOU is a great game. I just dislike that type of game.

If it is then it's only just in that category. When playing on the difficulty setting that presents a challenge for your skill level then it is a fine video game in addition to being a good story. There is no doubt that it's the story and characters (including the supporting characters) that really make this game the awesome experience it is for thos of us who regard it as a true classic. So you do have to appreciate that aspect to call it a great game. But I don't accept the interactive movie label. Not least because it is so ill defined that it is probably the sub-genre on which there would be great difficulty in getting general agreement on what's in and out.

IMO these two games can't be compared, it's like comparing a submarine and a plane because they are vehicles..

I see that some people don't understand that the tank controls in RE4 were deliberately designed that way. Think about it - if the controls were normal, the game would be a walk in the park (like most TPS/cover shooters).

Furthermore I don't understand why people are saying that RE4 revolutionized the genre - how? For example the Max Payne games came long before RE4 did, and there were no other games like RE4 released after, hence why it is still so unique to this day. The game that revolutionized the genre was Batman Arkham Asylum in 2009, now that was a game whichs mechanics everyone hurried to copy.
