Lego City Undercover is surprisingly good for a lego game, I advise you to pick it up anyone of your kids like lego.

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Overrated by some in my opinion, but it is still pretty good.

It's not what's really great about Splatoon, though. It is primarily an online multiplayer game.

As someone who never touched the online, I found it one of my fav games of 2015 on the strength of its single player alone.

If you visit Nintendo's website, you can get a refurbished one and a game for a little over $200.  For kids, I highly recommend Pikmin 3, Arkham City, and Trine 1,2, as it will help them develop their strategy and puzzle solving skills.  Also, don't forget about Wii Sports, Fit U and Breath of the Wild.

Kart is the best all-ages game, in my opinion.  It is fun to play solo, with family and friends in the same room, and with randoms online.  Kids love it, adults love it, and I imagine cats and dogs do too.  

If you have someone that likes puzzle solving, I recommend Captain Toad's treasure tracker.  It is kid friendly.  It is also a good workout for the ol' brain, but (for the most part) not frustratingly difficult.  It is also cheaper than most of the other games, as it launched at $40.
