Simple question would you consider it a spoiler if someone told you something like the following example:

"Hey, Zelda Breath of the Wild has a really sad ending"

Do you take that as a spoiler? or do you think its not a spoiler because the person wasnt specific about WHY it is a sad ending?

Not for myself personally but I know people who find that to be spoiler.

I would. Depending on the game and the direction it is taking while playing, if you know something like "it has a really sad ending" there's a good chance you can predict what will happen far too early.
