Maybe, but in general I prefer to have new villains here and there for long running franchises.

But if I wanted to be really nitpicking with this, it isnt really confirmed that Bowser is the main villain, plus you have also those bunny villains.No one knows how much they play into the game story.

I actually like to see the same old villains in this type of game. I miss King K. Roll in the latests DKs. Robotinik seems important to me in this new attempt of making a good modern Sonic game.
