Forums - PC Discussion - NieR Automata Steam release date (March 10)

I read that they were focusing on "piracy" (acting like early 00 devs at that) as well, so I wouldn't be surprised if the delay was to shove denuvo in there as much as possible. Not like it will do them any good though with how that layer of DRM ends up being broken down within weeks now rather than years.

I do hope that they are spending those two weeks to give the game the polish it deserves as well as a nice list of options for us that want to tweak the game to how they want it. Also no fps cap please.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Some sites have backtracked their articles on it, because no PR will confirm that date. We'll see what happens.

Curious. Why put it in a trailer if PR won't confirm it?

Has the date changed since the trailer?

The date still hasn't been officially anounced. Dates and platforms are often put into trailers before official announcements. A lot of the time, they end up being mistakes by that video team, but they're sometimes wrong.

Too close to Zelda, but I'm probably getting it in the future.

edit:

https://www.pcgamesn.com/nier-automata/nier-automata-pc-release-date

"When the trailer went live earlier, it did so with a Steam release date: March 10. The PlayStation 4 date was set for March 7. Incidentally, March 7 is the US release date on PS4, while March 10 is the Europe release date, so it looks like someone at Square Enix made a little boo boo.

That version of the trailer has now been nuked from existence, so don’t get your hopes up for a PC version landing with the console edition. We’ve emailed Square Enix, but they probably won’t tell us anything, as they clearly aren’t ready to announce the PC date just yet. "

That kinda sucks, got really pumped for nothing.

Still hoping though.

So, the game finally released on PC and .... it looks like it's a poorly optimised port.

For me, it runs really bad. Less then 30 fps in game and even lower on cutscenes.
It performs worse then The Devision maxxed out in 4K. I mean.. There is nothing on the screen, just a jet and the see below and the frames are around 31. Nothing is happening. This just doesn't make any sense.
Requested a refund. Sorry.. but not like this. Release a demo next time.

Do PC games typically get demos? I can't recall too many PC demos right now.

I know the ps4 got one so I find it odd the PC didn't get one.

Only if the developer makes one. But in this case.. no demo for PC. So, no way of trying that out. Pre-ordered it, runs like crap, refund. Too bad, I really wanted to play it. Guess I'll wait for patches.
