Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch game card in comparison to other cards

Tagged games:

I like that the switch case has another cover inside instead of a blue or white background. If all games are like that than switch cases would be more awesome than all the others

Nintendo copying Sony yet again!

I hope the cards are durable like DS/3DS cards, since like DS/3DS cards I probably wont ever put them back in their case.

Hahahaha what? Most of the time Sony copies Nintendo. Also there aren't so many ways you can design a small little cart so copying is a strong word

Guess I shoulda made it more clear that it was a joke, but hey, as long as you still found it funny!

Also, the left side of the art inside Zelda's case is really empty. They could have made a better use of that's space IMO.

They could put text or have an art that use the space better. Would be nice

They should just put full manuals in them like they use to. People who don't like them, don't have to read them. But there's no reason outside of capitalism, to take them out.

I agree.
Recently I picked up a brand new copy of Diablo 2... And it came with a full-blown strategy guide. It was heavy and chunky with everything you could think of.

Then it dawned on me... Prima games makes big ecompassing strategy guides, manuals, the lot for video games.. And these are typically licensed, it's extra revenue for the developers/publishers.

Plus games can change significantly from launch... Could you imagine a manual for Overwatch that explained a characters powers only to have a character like Symmetra loose a power and gain two new ones thanks to a patch?

Saving trees?

Unless game manuals make up a significant proportion of tree loss, I don't see that as an argument.

Who knows how accurate this is  or how many manuals you get out of a ton of paper but :

"Internal Ubisoft numbers indicate that manufacturing one ton of paper used to create game manuals uses two tons of wood from 13 trees, enough energy to heat an average home for a year, 13,000 gallons of wastewater and 6,000 pounds of carbon dioxide."

I do miss some of the manuals (those that put actual effort and artwork into them)

If that's true then I'd prefer for the game to have a digital manual in it instead.
