Uh... I think it's definitely good enough for a nomination, but there are a lot of high contenders coming out this year. To be honest it's way to early to say.

It's only February, way too soon to be talking about GOTY.

Have to play before I can judge something, but just based on it releasing right now, I'm going to say it won't win as many awards it could have it if released holiday.

Taking rating scale for Jeremy Jahn, you'll forget it in t-minus 1 day.

Now I'm not saying that is necessarily true for this game, but more true for most all games. The shininess of the new game wears off and you move on. Even Zelda will hurt itself in regards to this come the end of the year. Horizon has another added disadvantage in that in only a week after release it has TWO HUGE things overshadowing it. A new Zelda and a NEW CONSOLE. Both are big news. Hell, if Zelda sucks ass big time, that itself will be bigger news than Horizon being a GOTY game. Then you have a shiny new console as well to content with.

Really, just insanely bad luck releasing right now.

Have to wait to play it before stating one way or the other, but right now I'd say it looks a competitor the way Uncharted 4 looked last year. A very solid, polished and visually beautiful game.

I always laugh at the people who call Horizon generic. Hate is just obvious. Don't know how on earth it's "generic". Guess jealousy will make you spout all sorts of bullshit

I'm definitely sure it will be one of the nominees for GOTY this year. It's a big, visually and technically impressive title that will be a shoe in. I'm actually thinking games like Nier and Persona 5 will not make it, as they will likely be seen as niche titles.

Yup, but its going to have to contend with Zelda and Nioh which is going to be rough.
