Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I'm sorry but if the Nintendo Switch doesn't get the big third party support, it will fail.

Afford?  With millions of people struggling to pay the rent or put food on the table?  Seriously?  Many working adults have far greater priorities with their money.

What are the odds Nogamez is between 16-23 without a real career, a long-term relationship, and especially children?

Even if you have all the money in the world, you might not have enough free time to justify buying another console that you'll rarely, if ever play.

Ha no I'm actually actually married with kids with a good career actually. That's why I was confused people think people actually can't afford more then one console. They cost like 2-300 pound. Not expensive are they

I don't understand how it can be so difficult for people to define a number when they talk about fails.

Show some balls!

I would show you my balls, but the mods won't allow me. I've tried it before, ask CGI about it.

The same third party support the 3DS got is what it needs.

Big third party games actually don't come out all that frequently. How many have we had so far this year? RE7? Indies don't count as 99% of them could run on a Switch anyway.

At the end of the year is when they start pouring. Mass effect, Read dead, Re7, all the major sports titles, COD, Destiny, Project Cars and more. Those games sell quite a bit to say the least. Not to mention previous third party games like GTA 5, Fallout 4, ect.

The Switch is in an interesting position. Personally, I don't see it getting a lot of Western AAA third party games even though companies like Epic Games seems to be in love with the Switch for some reason. However, the Switch will get a ton of Japanese support, exclusive support especially. Think of all those niche games you might have seen on the 3DS or PS Vita. They're going to be coming to the Switch. The 3DS and Vita are aging. They're slowly on their way out. Developers in Japan need a Nintendo portable system. The Switch is the closest thing to that right now. So I think the real test with the Switch will be to see how well these games will perform on a console that will probably be quite popular.

What is your definition of 3rd party support?

Nintendo's portables and Wii didn't get the same 3rd party support as PS/XB, but I'm fairly certain anyone would call them successful.

I'd also argue that Wii U had many other issues going against it that had nothing to do with lacking 3rd party support.

It's not going to have it, and it's going to do well because it's a handheld.

Well, I think Nintendo is actually a big enough developer to release enough games during the Holidays to make up for missing out on a lot of those games. It's not like your average gamer buys that many titles each year.

Plus I don't see why CoD shouldn't be able to run on a Switch if they really want it.
