Sales numbers have shown that most people still buy a regular PS4 instead of a PS4 Pro. This means that Scorpio too will be seen as a luxury device, and won't have a large impact on Xbox marketshare.

It would have been much better for MS to delay one year and launch a completely new generation, also with a one year head start.

Microsoft needs as many things as they can to distract people from seeing that they are terrible at delivering exclusives. If they have to make hardware to do it so be it. How do you think they kept Sony from advancing on them for two years straight last gen? It was the Kinect.

I think it is funny that people think there will be some kind of magical leap between PS4/PS4 Pro, and devices with Zen, a 10 - 12TFLOP GPU, and 16GB RAM.

The only thing that is going to get us is PS4/XBO games in native 4K, and a stable frame rate.

I still 100% believe that we should see PS4 and XBO Revision 3 in 2019 - 2020 with the above mentioned specs. Let these systems fully embrace 4K and PSVR 2/Version 2 first gen VR devices at 1440p.

For real Next gen, I think 2024 is about right. Give us devices with 25 - 30TFLOP GPU, 8 Core/16 Thread CPU, 128GB of RAM, and SSD with SATA Express or m.2 NVMe. That will give us a massive leap in what is possible in 4K, and be capable of delivering a truly next gen level on both TV and VR.

nah... a new gen doens't start just because one of the big 3 want it to start... new gen starts when the old hardware becomes obsolete to a point where third party doesn't want to work whit it anymore. A new gen starts when there is a big technological leap, a leap that is far bigger than X1 > X scorpion... MS can't start a new gen, Third parties are not going to drop X1/Ps4 to develop for Xbox "insert name" and things like Mass effect I and bioshock I are not going to happen again...

Nah. PS4 times 4 times its resolution=~7.2Tflopz,  so with ~5 extra Tflopz it should be more than enough for a big leap

So if we are to get PS4 quality exclusives in 4K, PS5 needs to be a console thats only 1Tflopz stronger than Scorpio. But I dont expect Sony to bruteforce 4K. Rather, they'll probbaly hone their checkerboard rendering technique, therefore leaving much more breathing room for next gen graphical effects. The Pro with its 4.2Tflopz demonstrates its adequate enough for 4K like gaming. A console thats 3x faster should give us a next gen leap.

So PS5 launch in 2019-2020, then PS6 in 2025-2026, by then the resolution wars will end because 8K is probably gonna take decades to catch on, even movies aren't shot at that high resolution.

If it uses Ryzen and Vega, the earlier the better, they will be years ahead in tech console wise and deliver an amazing console with VR capabilities of the pc.

If it doesnt use either they should delay it and make a new generation, but they wont

Scorpio is rumoured to also have checkerboarding, which means it is not a Sony technique/technology, but an AMD one. And how do you expect it to be refined?

Also. Not sure if you are serious or not. But your use of flops suck, you need more than just flops to hit high resolutions.

I'm open to make a bet with anyone who says Scorpio is just a beefier Xbox One rather than a full-blown next gen console. Bring it on.
