Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are there too many games coming out on PS4?

Did Sony intent to make us broke by overwhelming us with good games so we skip on the Switch?

Yes 105 50.97%

Probably 36 17.48%

Nope 65 31.55%

Total:206

Looking good! Although so far this year on PS4 I've only played The Flame in the Flood and Resident Evil 7 (and that was technically on Xbox).

I'm super excited to play Nioh and also interested in Nier. Despite the rave reviews, I'm still bearish on Horizon. Guerrilla hasn't impressed since 2006. I also want to give Gravity Rush 2 a try, as I loved the original.

Yes. I´m interested in GR2, Yakuza 0, Nioh, Horizon, Nier and Persona 5.

Already bought GR2 and Y0. Horizon is preordered.
Nioh suffered due to my lack of time. I´ll get back to it after I finish Persona 5.
As for Nier, I´ll wait for the PC release.

And then after that there´s Crash and very likely other games like Uncharted Lost Legacy, Wipeout and Parappa. All of which I´m looking forward to.

Yeah, Sony and their developers are certainly killing it these past few months. If Nier: Automata and Persona 5 score well, it would be a glorious 3 month beat down on the competitions. Although, aside from Horizon, these games are probably considered niche but still good/great quality.

You forgot KH 2.8 btw.

Have they even released anything these past few months?

Sorry, I didn't mean like their first party developers, just Sony and the developers they are working with to make exclusives.

I might be missing some (i'm just going off the top of my head), but over the last few months Sony themselves have put out RIGS, The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2, a bunch of smaller VR stuff, and Horizon. I assume Areym was referring to Sony and the developers they've been partnering with though.

Too many I cant keep up. I beat gravity rush 2 and Yakuza 0 and just started kingdom hearts 2.8. I also wanted to play resident evil 7 and digimon next order.

How was GR2?

There is never too many games, because not all games are for all people, different people like different games. Having big number of different variety games is always good thing, not bad.

Also Switch offers different games that you cant play on PS4.

I wouldn't bother trying to throw logic into here, it's pretty obvious what this thread is and what the responses are gonna be/who they are from.

To claim there is no such thing as "too many games" is quite illogical. That's just naive.

I'll answer.

I bought the first one twice. Once on Vita and again on PS4. I only finished it on Vita, though. Anyway, the game looks better, offers some new mechanics, and has the same charm. On the flip side, missions and side missions are often pointless or frustrating. Pop in is prevalent making it a chore to look for gems (and leveling up takes a crazy amount of them). Kat almost always goes through walls, the ground, or whatever when she moves. The camera is Super Mario Sunshine bad, at times. And yet, I still want to love this game. Not bad but I can't recommend it to anyone that isn't already a fan.

For the record, it as a day one preorder and I'm playing on a PS4 Pro.

While this thread is more of a joke, I do admit that the high number of games this year is reducing a bit my will to buy a Switch. I could use the money to get a bunch of these games and I also don't know if I will have the time to play all the good games on both platforms.
