The only explanations I'd have, not that I disagree with your assessment, are that during the benchmark (if you read my gaf translation,) even though the GPU was running at a lower clock speed, the CPU was running at full speed for the first one hence making up the missing FLOPs, and that the GPU was thermal throttling during the benchmark in the second one because 1005 MHZ was the maximum hit but might not have been running at that speed the whole time. Like you though, I have high doubts about this rumor, just wanted to throw out that other possibilities exist in your argument lol.

The ARM cores aren't making up for 100~ Gflop. They aren't that powerful.

There is no doubt in my mind that this rumor is fake, the fact that some people believe it though is very telling.

No, the only real possible scenerio in that one is also throttling TBH, but like I said, I don't think it's likely when you look at the size of the SoC without some voodoo magic shit to fit 512 CUDA cores in there, there'd be no fucking room.

Lets not kid ourselves. Nintendo's specs for its consoles are going to underwhelm everyone here. That's not why we game on Ninty consoles.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Even without throttling. Even with 512 Cuda cores. You cannot exceed theoretical maximum gflop numbers with real-world numbers.

Again. I have debunked this. There is no argument to even be had.

huh? It'd be 1024 GFLOPs therretical max at 512 Cuda cores, the bench is not higher than that lol. It'd be impossible with 256 which is what I think it has based on die size. That's why I'm debunking it personally, get your math right.

Would be happy if true, but I doubt it. 516 Cuda Cores for one is such a random number.

Secondly if that was true, then something must be terribly wrong when it can only run a Wii U game (Zelda: BotW) at 900p and things like Bomberman at only 30 frames per second.

Guess what: the Bomberman developers could have opted for 100fps and cut down the runtime on battery by more then 3 times... . Makes no sense.

So they did what every developer would do: as their game doesn't require even 60fps to be fun, they opted for 30fps to ensure a maximum runtime when on battery.

Does it go to 60 fps when docked?

*Face palm* I can't... Nah. Not even going to bother.

Read my post further up the page where I quoted myself. Sheesh.

this is usually what happens when people read a few digitalfoundry articles without processing what theyre actually reading then consider themselves knowledgable on the subject.

If you are talking about the GPU in handheld mode thing, he didn't have the right info and I actually had a good translation, you based it off the wrong info to start with lol, that shit was standby mode, and the number was there as a reference only according to the translation. I mean, I do read Chinese you know
