Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Files sizes of various launch window Nintendo Switch games!

Breath of the Wild is impressively small. I love how Nintendo knows how to keep their games small. 60GB games are annoying.

how the heck is Snipperclips 1.6 GB.... does the game have like 160 levels or something.

32 GB for Dragon Quest Heroes I-II? Wow. That's a lot of space. I had a feeling that the Nintendo Switch game cards would hold more than 16 GB.

So the console isn't out yet and there are already games that can't even fit on the internal storage? I guess everyone should just stick to physical only games.

First of, outside of GTA5 that came with almost 2.5yrs of EXTRA content, there isn't a 60GB game out there. Every game that ends up getting that big get that big for a reason. Its not like devs can't somehow figure ut how to compress shit.

Breath of the Wild is so small. How can this be a huge open world game? Also, some of the other games are as small as PS1 games. Quite disappointed.

The standard is to be 16GB... but they can fit up to 32GB on those cards. And with tech advancements that will no doubt get to 64GB at some point in time if ever the need arises.

Yeah, I can see that happen too.

Same reason Dragon Quest is 32GB. Developers other than Nintendo just don't know how to compress their games well enough.

For reference, Super Mario 3D World is 1.7GB.

smh... the sad thing is that you honestly believe the reason other games are big is because other developers can't compress their games.

Skyrim (original) was under 7GB skyrim remastered is almost 28GB. the size of your world has very little to do with the data siize of a game. All you have to do to keep things small is recycle a lot of asstes, use lower quality audio files, very and make sure everything is rendered in realtime and not pre recorded in engine cutscenes that take up a chunk of space too.

I think some of you don't really get what contributes to the data size of a game. Or what it being big/small could mean. Ah well....

The vanilla version of Skyrim launched with a filr size of less than 6 GB.  The Special Edition - which is a remaster PLUS all DLC included - comes in at 22 GB.  File size has very little to do with the size of a game.

What the hell? There is no way dragon Quest is bigger than BotW. Absolutely ridiculous. Definitely disappointed how they ballooned the size of that game.

Glad to see mario kart only be 7 gb
