Forums - Gaming Discussion - Scenario: You are the CEO with a 5 Year contract with one of the Big 3.

Here's a scenario for you VGChartz.

You have been offered a 5 year contract from each of the Big 3. Sony wants you to oversee their Playstation Division, Microsoft their Xbox Division and Nintendo wants you to run the whole damn thing.

Who do you choose? What's your first move? Why did you choose that company? Where do you improve/remove? When do you start the next gen? How do you correct the current flaws of your company?

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

You mean as a CEO of the whole company or just the gaming division head ? (Doesn't matter for Nintendo since they only do gaming anyways.)

If it's the latter I'd choose Sony since their the easiest and most stable in terms of the gaming business. At least I don't have to worry much about a shrinking customer base or getting the boot sooner than the contract specified with a predictable future ...

Nintendo:

1. Lower pro controller to 59.99 to aggressively attract consumers

2. Make a bunch of bundles for remaining 3ds stock.

3. Make sure at least 5 big games come out annually to prevent droughts

4. Lower price of Switch to 250 during holidays or 299 with mario odyssey to let prices explode. We've never had a mario game release during the holidays I think, so this'll be amazing as a mario launch game

5. More bundles to challenge xbox and sony.

6. Limited edition Joy cons for extra money

7. GameCube and Wii U pro controller support for smash

8. Smash 4 remaster- melee HD remaster for additional $20

9. Better sales to attract digital profit

10. Enter SD card business if it is profitable. Not really sure if Nintendo would do well or not

11. Bundle 1-2 switch with the console in a year, as the price will probably go down. It'll also show off the console

12. More limited edition versions. Wii U only had LoZ

Xbox, because Lord knows they need somebody who knows what they're doing running it. First thing I'd do is create some new first party studios because Xbox only has a few left now. 2nd thing I'd do is make Scorpio a next-gen system instead of a mid-gen refresh, because Xbox really needs a clean slate and a sales headstart over PS5.

This.

However I do think They know what they're doing for the past year or so. They are day and night better now than at the time of the Xbox One launch, so they should deserve some credit IMO.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Nintendo. Then I would begin development on new entries for f-zero, Metroid, star tropics, the last story, wave race and buy platinum then immediately leave and give the company to someone that actually knows what they're doing

Nintendo, I'll force Capcom to Make a new engine for MH, Make a new pokemon game with 10 different versions.

Sony gotta make sure it stays at the top during this gen and the next. Also I am making sure Sony isn't going to shutdown any more (European) playstation developers.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Xbox since it would be more of a challenge.

I would make sure I spread the release of exclusives over a full three year period, and release at least 5 exclusives a year.

I would also bring back old It's such as Otogi, Jade empire, Conker, Banjo, Perfect dark and invest in new IPs.

Microsoft. Drop from consoles and become a service on PC using Xbox branding. Bring back Rareware and it's classic IPs plus new great ones. DRM free and work on  a Steam/Gog like service and still have Xbox IPs people expect plus new IPs they expect on Xbox. Possibly bring back old faves with new studios.

Sony. Partner with SEGA to bring many classic IP's back other than Shenmue plus bring PSO2 stateside. Oh and a brand new Phantasy Star. Either a reboot or new game in the original PS series.

Nintendo. Partner up with CD Project Red to have GOG on the Eshop and the games compatible with Switch on GoG are cross play. Mostly older games to run well on the hardware but still that would give Switch in an instant thousands of games. Top that off publish more games from Japanese developers. Bayonetta 3.Crossover game fom Capcom plus new IPs from other devs.  Buy a couple smaller western studios and some stake in Platinum Games to make them second party.

Microsoft. To get the sinking ship faster to the bottom of the ocean. Thus, the other two have a better and brighter future

Man, am so good. /patting myself on the shoulder.
