Forums - Gaming Discussion - All Xbox Games will run better on Scorpio & Phil is flying to japan

The only way Scorpio can have a impact is if they start a new gen with it and have exclusive games. With boost mode from day1 and I guess new game getting better support it might be a good option for Xbone fans. But otherwise I doubt it will have any significance. Up-gradable console is not going work

Or just buy a PS4.
Just make more exclusive IP's.

What's that saying people always use? "The strongest console never won a generation"?

Considering the PS4 upended that sentiment when these mid-gen console upgrades weren't in consideration well...some sayings aren't as concrete as others.

Most powerful console, currently, is PS4 pro, standard PS4 is the one selling the most.

yh, and thats why the PS4pro has been wiping the floor with the PS4 sales wise. When the new most powerful (and most expensive) console becomes the scorpio..... it will be the end for the Playstation this gen. Sony can kiss that lead goodbye. Its already started anyways, all the gap closing momentum MS has ganered over the past few months and their consistent YOY and MAU growths is already a sign of the beginning of the end.

Oh... and yh, No shit Phil.... even the XB1s run all games better already.....

It's real !!!!

Welcome to Japan Phil  .

I can almost guarantee it, if Microsoft does not drop support for the first Xbox One, The scorpio will just be a gimmick. Scorpio is too powerful of a console for it to be supported along with the Xbox One, and if they just continue to support Scorpio with Xbox one, then the One will be dragging Scorpio wayyyyy behind. Microsoft has put themselves in quite a predicament, at least, that's how I see it.

Don't see it making a difference when the very biggest Japanese franchises get outsold 3 or 4:1.

Xbox gamers won't care anyway, they don't like niche rubbish like Persona 5 or Nioh

Yet a lot of them begs for them under his tweet

Persona, Kingdom Hearts, new Ninja Gaiden, Nier, Nioh

Been on the Xbox subreddit, and they seem to think that all those games you mentioned and more will appear on Xbox. Really can't see it happening, especially when it is well known by now that MS give up support in a flash as soon as something doesn't sell well

It is so funny to see them talking so positively about the games that PS4 gets that they don't, when normally they say they don't care at all

Maybe Phil is going to Japan to find a new deal like Scalebound?

That worked out well...

I fail to see why?

Xbox Scorpio will aim for 4K resolution or close to it, all GPU power will go towards that and/or higher details.

4K is 5.7x higher than 900p

4K is 4x higher than 1080p.

Don't expect 60 fps gaming in majority of games, extra RAM will go towards higher resolution textures.

Let's be real here, that "4k gaming" is a gimmick. It's not actually real 4k. And I see it as an issue because critics and even microsoft to some extent are painting it out the Scorpio as a "true next gen" system. Well it can't be "true next gen" if it is supported along with the Xbox One.  The way I see it is because Microsoft wants the Xbox One and Scorpio to co-exist, one will have to suffer, and that would be the Scorpio. It is almost 4x as powerful as the Xbox One. It won't reach any new heights if it gets dragged down by its older counterpart.  Also, let's go into the issue with scalebound. These are rumors that I've managed to see browsing the web, but I've seen people say that the one of the reasons scalebound was cancelled, was because they could not even get it to run properly on the original Xbox One (keep in mind these are rumors). And yes, I know it was also going to be released for PC, but microsoft also wanted to market the "cross play feature" or something with Scalebound. But since apparently the Xbox can't get it to run properly, it was cancelled. If that rumor is true, then developers can only make games that the Xbox One can handle, and if it can't then neither system will be getting the game. If the Scorpio gets a game and not the One, then there will be a mass uproar of Microsoft trying to abandon the Xbox One. That is how I see it.
