Forums - Gaming Discussion - All Xbox Games will run better on Scorpio & Phil is flying to japan

So some interesting news from the man who tweets as much as D. Trump but talks about interesting stuff sometimes :)

On a question how old games would run on the premium console he said "Our games, old and new, have to show why someone would choose Scorpio. I feel really good about our progress on that."

and after the announcement that nier Automata will most likely not come to the XBox One because of poor japanese sales Phil has decided to go on a small vacation to some developers, here is a quote from an article I read on ICXM

"Spencer is visiting Japan next week to talk to third-party publishers. I imagine this is due to the issue of Japanese games not coming to Xbox One. Hopefully the conversations between Spencer and the publishers will yield fruitful results. I want games like Nioh to come to Xbox One because I want to use my Elite Controller to play them! We'll keep you posted if Spencer updates us about what transpired in Japan."

It seems Xbox is going for a much more aggresive approach and they do really feel like the Scorpio is the time for a complete "rebranding" of the negativity they have had during the last few years. For me the console is looking very exciting and I found this new information very cool so I wanted to share it

If they upgrade the CPU to Ryzen, they will have a serious advantage over the PS4 Pro. Should be interesting.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

What's that saying people always use? "The strongest console never won a generation"?

Its true but times are different, 900p vs 1080p and framerate and performance and anaylitics of breakdowns of games on youtube and other media have been the norm the last 3-4 years and its very clear people bought a ps4 over a xbox one because it performed better.

Personally I own a PS4 for this reason I actually tought the launch lineup for Xbox was better with Forza since I love driving games but because of the GPU advantage and the better showing at E3 I picked up the PS4.

Now I am also someone who is picking up the Scorpio for these reasons and I do think Microsoft will do a better job showing the Xbox Sorpio off then sony did last year with their PS4 pro converance, which was a little lacklust for me.

Either way its excciting news and I cannot wait for this years E3 since it seems clear Microsoft is holding some announcements untill then and will just sit out the first half of the year which is going to be amazing for PS4 owners.

More Japanese devs should put their games on XBox 1: nearly 30 million users there and considering the X1 and PS4 not being too different from one another, it surely can't be too difficult.

No point in trying to woo japan anymore. 360 dumped tons of money in Mistwalker exclusives to sell in Japan. They were so sure Blue Dragon would get as big as Dragon Quest with a event and a special CE 360 with figures and such. 360 got Japanese games yeah and a lot of them in the west as well. Still the system was being outsold weekly by GBA. XBO is as alive in Japan as Wii U is anywhere. Japan basically refused XBO entirely,no real audience there for most Japanese games unless it feels more western like a Souls or RE game. Nier? nope. Niche games nope. Those belong on PS4 and handhelds. Forget Japan MS and shoot for China. China loves to adapt western culture atm. Get them hooked on Halo and Forza plus online games.

Yea, I doubt that trip will do much. Not only are they far behind in sales, but they are WAY behind in Japan. Add to that the fact that many Japanese games just don't perform well on the Xbox and you see why devs are ignoring it.

Also seems they are learning from Sony's mistakes and having Boost Mode available at launch. It'll be good for Xbox gamers interested in upgrading, but I don't think the gaming community will be very interested in any significant numbers. Not when the PS4/XBO will be $199 during the holidays and we may be looking at a $299 Pro. Not really an environment a $399-$449 Scorpio will flourish in. Doesn't help that all Xbox exclusives are now on PC.

That's good news, but don't ever link us to that trashy and shamelessly biased Xbox fanboy website.

I agree they are very biased but since this is based from quotes only it is reliable news ands I couldnt find any other website that summed it up correctly

The base PS4 has already broke that rule though. It still holds true for handhelds though since neither the PSP or Vita ever won a gen. And before anyone else says it, you can only win a gen if there is competition.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
