Would've been cool if he was able to sell it to someone who knows how to disassemble and reverse engineer stuff so we could've had a better idea of the specs before launch.

I know someone did that in a stream, and saw how the battery works, but I think it got taken down due to the embargo or whatever.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Well he still got to be the first in the world to unbox a Switch, surely that's worth atleast $300!

IGN's article provided an update with an official statement from Nintendo.

UPDATE: According to Nintendo, early Switch systems in the wild were stolen by employees of a distributor in the United States and illegally resold.
A Nintendo representative provided the following statement to IGN:
"Earlier this week, individuals claimed to prematurely purchase a small number of Nintendo Switch systems from an unspecified retailer. Nintendo has determined these units were stolen in an isolated incident by employees of a U.S. distributor, with one system being illegally resold. The individuals involved have been identified, terminated from their place of employment and are under investigation by local law enforcement authorities on criminal charges.
Nintendo Switch will launch worldwide on March 3, 2017, and we look forward to everyone being able to discover the wonders of the new system for themselves at that time."

Apt tagged game OP. This guy really tried to sell this on reddit? Oh man, has he never heard of the legend of the Nintenjas? Beyond that even without knowing this, why would consider selling ONLINE on a high traffic site?

Also, "Well I am a barista and we don't usually carry Nintendo products at the cafe."

... Yeah stop. Literally what does that have to do with anything? How does that make sense because?

"I didn't feel comfortable keeping it." ... Cool. So why sell it to someone else then?

This is too ridiculous.

"Nintendo wouldn't ban someone for going online two weeks early"

Right, doesn't seem far fetched now does it?

I stand by that statement firmly.  They would not ban you if you legitimately got the system early.  Mostly because I doubt they would even notice and there isn't anything that you could do anyway.

And I don't see the correlation here.  Nintendo banning someone is an unreasonable repsonse.  This is a very reasonable response: when property is stolen, the wronged party can and should recover it.

Dude that had it early claimed to have not known it was stolen, paid full price for it.
Nintendo asked for it back
Dude has not been refunded or even told if he will get it back on launch day (why would they not? it's just a retail system, nothing special)

Next Switch's story :

Breath of the Wild gets spoiled one week before the release !

Would be pretty messed up if someone leaked that info

Link saves Hyrule from me, a - fucking - gain. Also he finds a boomerang and a bow at some point, uses the damn things in that damn dungeon I set up which was specifically desinged to stop someone who did not have a Boomerang or a Bow. Little twat elf bastard, honestly. Oh yeah, and there is a really good version of that classic song from the older Zelda game in it, you'll know it when you hear it, it's great!

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

That can't be true! And yet, it all makes sense...
