Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch dev talk – 50,000 yen for a kit, Capcom wants to make AAA games, much more

''About main memory space, Capcom had told Nintendo that the initially planned space wasn’t enough. If you are comparing to what’s inside other current-gen systems, it definitely wouldn’t be enough. In the end, Capcom’s request was accepted and the memory capacity became as per to their expectation.''

And still no RE7.

I haven't said that Capcom wouldn't do it, I said what Capcom's president said, that they didn't want to do it.

http://wccftech.com/capcom-wants-release-nintendo-switch-titles-will-feel-different-ps4x1-games/

"During the latest financial briefing, Capcom’s CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto has touched upon the company’s Nintendo Switch support. During the Q&A session, Tsujimoto stated that multiplatform development will be possible for the new Nintendo console, but that’s not what Capcom would like to do, as they seek to offer something that will differ from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One titles. Tsujimoto also added that the company is currently in an internal review phase regarding content and features that might be offered in Switch titles, so there are no additional details on the matter as of now."

Also, that employee in the OP doesn't talk about Resident Evil but rather the engine Capcom used to make the game. Two different things.

Actually this is much more accurate translation:

"We are currently carrying out research with regards to multiplatform implementation of software for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on to the Nintendo Switch," a Capcom spokesperson said in an investor Q&A. "However, we do feel that there are differences in the desired direction and the play-style of the Nintendo Switch and those of the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One."

"At Capcom," the spokesman continued, "we determine which platform to release a title for after considering the features of both our software and the hardware in question, believing we must bring the enjoyment of our games to their maximum potential."

So Capcom president didnt said "they wouldn't do it".

Yes, RE7 Engine that will most likely be used by future RE games, I correct that. That obviously heavily hinting some RE game/s for Switch.

I have to remind you again that I didn't say that they wouldn't do it, just that they wouldn't like to do it.

It's the second time I have to tell you.

Also, even in the official transcription they clearly state that they see the X1/PS4 & Switch as different platforms, something that can be taken as an indication that they won't treat them as equals. But that's just my opinion, not a fact, and only time will tell if I'm wrong or not.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

If a RE game is bound for Switch I'm up for it as it would mean motion control aiming options for the guns, it's one reason I've kept RE4 Wii Edition.

No you actualy wrote they "wouldnt do it" not "they wouldnt like to do it".  Your original post that I refer:

"Well, we had Capcom's president saying that multiplatform development was possible with Switch, but that they wouldn't do it.."

Their first statement is pointing that they didn't planned to do it that in that moment, but thats doesnt mean they will not do it at all.

Only thing I care about with these guys is that they pull their head out of their arse and make a proper exclusive new Monster Hunter for Switch instead of yet another glorified expansion pack that looks like it fell out of a time machine from 2001. I used to love the series but they have grown so unbelievably lazy with it, constantly milking the same rehashed assets and 6th gen production values.

Just give us Monster Hunter, Capcom. You have given me Street Fighter II (and I will buy it with joy), but I want all of this talk to culminate in a Monster Hunter Switch exclusive. Although I would not be salty if it was also on PS4 or XBOX One, I would be most pleased if it were released as an exclusive. For many, an exclusive Monster Hunter would justify purchasing a Switch.

Wow. That's insanely cheap compared to the Wii U and PS4 dev kits which were like $2500.

Right there with ya! RE4 Wii's controls are amazing!

Great avatar by the way!

Thanks, the controls on the Wii version are something else which is why I'm optimistic on the joycons as they offer a traditional set to not alienate other games but still give us that option of MC. It would also be a good option in shooters aswell.

Agreed, its right up there with Sin & Punishment 2 and Metroid Prime 3 in demonstrating the immense superiority of pointer aiming over analogue.
