Romania shows otherwise. Ceaucescu banned abortions and it ended up causing such a crisis and conflict that got overthrown and executed.

I've never heard this argument before, but it does seem to be accepted by some.

I suppose it makes sense to a degree, but I'll have to do more digging.

Well, I'm not sure whether or not the U.S.'s change is related to abortion, but in Romania the banning of abortion definitely caused social problems.

You know why crime dropped in the 90s?  It mainly was due to Roe vs Wade in 70s making abortions legal throughout the USA.  Those unwanted kids that were aborted never had a chance to grow up in a family that didn't want them.  Those unwanted kids would have hit their 20s by the 90s.  They never had a chance to contribute to the crime rate.

Lol that's a stretch.

It could be a stretch, but that doesn't make it false either.

We know a disprorpotionate amount of criminals are raised in broken homes or foster homes where they are treated like shit.

Only because he legalised murder...

Creating a whole nation of psycho vigilantes.

What else do you expect from a president who compares himself to Hitler?

Excuse me, vigilantism happened here because previous administrations were so busy fattening themselves that law and order went out the window. No one trusts the system for a freaking long time. The army was looked upon as land grabbers for the rich, the Police part of the drug syndicates and the judges to protect the few and not the people.

You make it sound like this happened only because of the current President, it did not. 30 years of shit made it happen.

I have been telling you all but no one listens, all of the things that this President is being accused of has been happening ever since Martial Law. It is not exclusively happening just now. You can take Duterte out and it will still be happening.

and we did not legalize murder. That comment is probably a joke but my country would not stand for that. We haven't even legalized abortion for pete sakes.

We legalized murder. Come to our country. We kill you good.

No joke. :^)

The thing is if you legalise heroin you have a regulated product that cut's overdosing way down, this is exactly whathappened in the UK during the 1950's and 1960's , at that time the use of herion was fairly small and not widespread like the states and was it was mainly dock workers in large international ports  places like liverpool working on US ships, these  workers where first introduced to heroin by the US sea men in the form of smoking heroin reefers . because of this clustering there was a trial of supplying registered heroin addicts with pharmacy grade heroin that lasted around twenty years .

That is a dubious thesis, how would lower prices and greater availabilty reduce consumption (or what do you understand by legalisation)? The methadone replacement helps addicts to get clean and mitigates some of the effects, but it doesn't stop new addicts getting into heroin or other hard drugs. To my knowldge there is no developed country that ever legalized heroin or any other hard drug.

I think you may need to reread what I wrote, I never mentioned lower prices or that the UK legalised Heroin across the board, what i did was talk about a TRIAL that lasted around twenty years and i also mentioned that the reason the trial got off the ground was that at that time in the UK heroin use wasn't widespread  you have to remember where talking over 60 years ago and they had a cluster of heroin users to run what was basically a social experiment.

the only reason i mentioned it was it confirmed that  regulated pharmacy grade heroin cut down on overdoses , not as an advocate to the effectiveness of legalising heroin.

He openly compared himself to HItler. You're still defending this lunatic despite this? It doesn't help that your country banned Schindler's List because it was sympathetic towards Holocaust victims.

If tourism becomes non-existent in the Philippines I wouldn't be surprised. In fact I'd be glad. I wouldn't set a foot in there even if you put a gun to my head.

This is "I G N O R A N C E"  at its finest!

Educate yourself first oh angry sheep. Before WW2 officially began, our country made an open door policy to accept refugees when so many nearby countries not wanting to have anything to do with it.

Schiendler's List being banned is another set of issues. So don't go bringing anti-semitism or whatever you think you can throw here into the discussion that you can make us to be Neo-Nazis of your own personal bubble of "reality".

See this is the problem, you have no idea what our actual reality is, you based your facts on a comment but no clue on the actual improvements we are getting right now.

our country is the 2nd largest exporter of meth did that stop tourism?

we have terrorists, rebels, kidnap for ransom groups did that stop tourism?

for freaking decades we have EJK did that stop tourism?

all your talk is hot air because you got no idea what is actually happening here and you are welcome to stay away for all we care.

My understanding is the actual drug king pins in the Phillipines are actually all Chinese triads and Duerte is a puppy dog when dealing with the Chinese. I don't really see what he's going to accomplish if he really can't even get to the root of the problem.

Beyond that I would say crippling poverty is a bigger issue in the Philipines than a few million drug addicts ... guess what there are millions of drug addicts in neighboring Asian countries, in European countries, and certainly in America too.

The guy doesn't even know that farmers who have been denied lands by oligarchs are getting their land rights now.

Lumads who have been harassed and evicted from their lands are now getting it back.

We actually now have 911 emergency call and Freedom of Information act under our Hitler.

Critics and opposition are free to speech without being jailed. Free to demonstrate.

I could go on and on but he is hitler because of a comment.
