Why is everyone complaining, these practices became common practice years ago. Season passes and dlc are getting better now, they are extending the life of the product and also to some extent slowly down pre owned sales. Now more people are holding onto their games so they can play the dlc packs instead of selling the game as soon as they finish it.

The fist pack seems like content taken out of the game to be sold later. I always hate hard difficulty DLC. It should be a normal fucking setting on the menu. At the most, have it locked until you beat the game the first time. And the Cave of Trials was included with Twilight Princess, so it should be included here.

As for the 2nd one, we'll have to see what that includes. If the original game seems lacking when it comes to dungeons and story, I expect people to be pissed.

To be honest I don't get the complaining. There's not any substantial day one content, which is great. You get a shirt and a few chests. Locking a difficulty behind paid DLC sucks, but correct me if I am wrong, Naughty Dog did this with Last of Us and Grounded mode? Maybe I am not remembering correctly.

$20 is nothing. People are whining that Nintendo has embraced the evil sides of gaming, this isn't even close. Day one exclusive DLC for preordering, plus Gamestop exclusive DLC, plus an Amazon exclusive preorder DLC bonus, plus some exclusive day one weapons in the Limited Edition, plus a $50 season pass with a couple dungeons and some new weapons. This would be Nintendo going HAM with current trends in gaming. Oh, wait, you gotta throw in some type of monetized loot system with random rewards.

They're charging $20 for new content long after launch, a new difficulty mode, a trial, and some meager extra content in game. Seems like a non-issue to me.

Yup your right though they annouced when the game was at least a few months old.

And yeah this is far from the worst season pass I have ever seen espically since there aint any pre-order bonuses for BOTW not even phsyical one's.

Like examples of bad season passes are Battlefront, Doom, Titanfall 1, Destiny,  Evolve, and Aliens Colonial Marines. All for various reasons.

I just don't like the idea of DLC in general. I like my games complete. And I also hate Season Passes. No way I'm gonna drop money for stuff I don't even know about beforehand. Nope. Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope.

There was a time when DLC was fine. That was when the studios actually began developing it after a game released. Today it's just part of the regular development plan. It's getting decided what makes it into the base game and what will be hidden behind a paywall. That's bullshit. Instead of expanding a game with DLC, they cut corners and sell that as DLC.

I'll wait for a complete edition and if such one won't come, I will pass on the game completely. But I'm sure there will be a complete edition. Even if it will take years for that to happen. No problem, I can wait, I have more than enough games to play anyway.

Still getting Switch Day 1, but now I seriously don't know which game I will buy for it. ^^

Nothing about it bothers me at all. I just don't want them to focus too much on DLC for BotW when they can move on to the next Zelda game. I don't want to wait 5+ years again.

A) Games like Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, and Smash Bros?
B) Out of ALL the material that we've seen from this game and all the amazing previews and first impressions, fingers are pointing that the launch product we're getting is the complete product and a fan-fucking-tastic game and that this is material that is being developed even after the game is released.
Instead of giving a box of pizza with only four slices and charging extra for the other 4, you're getting the entire pizza plus the additional option for a side of breadsticks.
C) Sounds pretty foolish from an outside perspective. I don't think anyone would buy a system without knowing for sure at least ONE game they're buying to go with it.

Yeah, I'm sure they will be hard at work developing that new difficulty setting. No easy task to change some settings! Ok, maybe they will at least make it similar to Master Quest for Ocarina of Time which had some real changes to the game. But still, that's no hard thing to do and I'm not paying for that. It's just ridiculous. And what about those cosmetic items that will be available right at launch? Those are obviously cut out from the game and I won't support business practices like these. Call me a fool, but I'm not following everywhere this industry is going to. If they screw me over too much, there's still a ton of Retro games for me to explore.

And yes, I agree it's foolish to get a new system wihtout a game. I placed that pre-order months ago with Zelda in mind. Now I don't really want to cancel it. Hmm. But I'll think about it. When I go to the store in march and can't find a game I'm interested in, I might just let the switch sit in the store.

100% fine with it but selling the harder difficulty in a game made for their fans that they have been waiting years for seems a bit cheap.

apart from that they are moving with the industry nothing to be upset about
