A fresh batch of Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy screenshots have surfaced online, showcasing the one-time PlayStation mascot strutting his stuff in high-definition on PlayStation 4. 

This latest bunch of images showcases some of the first shots of the crate-bashing marsupial’s second game, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and suffice to say it’s looking mighty impressive.

Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy is currently in development at Vicarious Visions, who are taking over remastering duties from original creators Naughty Dog. The bundle includes HD remasters of the first three games in the series: Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back, and Warped, which were originally released on the PlayStation in the mid-late 90s. 

Aside from a PS4-powered makeover, the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy also adds a number of other features, including unified checkpoints, pause menus, and manual/automatic save systems. The package also features 4K resolution visuals and completely overhauled audio. Sony has yet to announce a Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy release date, though it has confirmed the bundle will ship in 2017.

I just hope they revamp the controls.... Please please please fix the controls.

I dunno why, but I sold my original copy of Crash after beating it.  I regretted that I did.  But I do have a Crash action figure buried somewhere in a box.  I have to find it.

Sony really need to get this ip back in their hands, i fear after this title we will get ten years of crappy crash games again.

Crash bandicoot hasn't aged well. It's very limited and they are even toning down the difficulty which is one of the really good things it had going for it.

Uh, what do 'unified checkpoints' mean? Don't all the games already have identical checkpoint systems?

What's wrong with them? I always thought they were fine in all Crash games, with the possible exception of the first game not having analog support (I think).

Not sure what you talking about man, Crash 2 is just as good as it ever was and Crash 3 could see a much needed improvement with this remake. If you're talking about Crash 1 however, I can see where you're comig from.

See now this looks like a remake. Well done developers for keeping in the spirit of the originals.

Looks amazing! This is the first ps4 exclusive i want but cant have. Great games hopefully they dont mess them up!
