While longer would certainly be better, I still found the first game's single player satisfactory. As someone who never played the online, I felt I got my money's worth in the end.

I agree, but this time around I expect Splatoon 2 to release at full price.

So in other words just like the first game?

It sounds like it will just as similar :/

Splatoon 2 will of course have a single-player campaign just like the original. The Squid Research Lab is still “researching” it, but it is planned to have the same volume of content as the first title. Also, like the last game, Nintendo wants the campaign to serve as a way of players to become familiar with the controls if they’re hesitant to jump right into the competitive scene. They also want to show the depth of the squid world similar to what had done with Sunken Scroll.

Huh, I'have loved for it to be a little longer and a little less linear, with more branching paths and bigger areas to explore. Making it more of a world. I liked the Splatoon single player and thought it had great potential to be more than just a mechanics tutorial. But it's good to see single player confirmed at all.

And it's nice to hear that you liked it so much curl! :)

Any news on whether the game will support gyro aiming like Wii U?? I cant go back to regular sticks anymore for Splatoon, gyro is just so much more accurate and responsive for me.

The final boss is one of my all time favourite boss battles.

So the invite feature is also through the app. Now I have to wonder if you'll be able to join friends at all without it...
On the bright side, Splatfest are now confirmed to return! Previously they had only said there would be special events, but now they've specifically said it's Splatfest. Other than that not much new here, so continue to wait on Slosher details I must.

I just want to know if it'll have split screen online multiplayer. That is all I care about.

Fear not, Splatoon 2 does indeed feature gyro aiming just like the first game, Treehouse confirmed as much.

Mine too.

My only complains for the first game was, at launch it lack of content and the matchmaking was awful combined with the menu.
