I liked all the 3D platformers equally much.

My favorite Mario is Mario Kart though.

I love both, and both are better than 2D, but I do prefer the open and non-linear Mario 64 style.

Of the two different 3D styles in the poll, I prefer the more exploration based style of 64/Sunshine. The more linear approach of the Galaxy/Land games is really good too though.

The 64 approach is better for exploration and having a cohesive experience. The 3D World approach is better for variety and creativity.

The Galaxy approach is the perfect blend of the 2.

I like both, but am excited to go back to the 64/Sunshine style with Odyssey.

The one where Mario doesn't feel sluggish, lives I find remain after I turn off the console and powerups are more than just a fancier version of Doom's keys.

I like both. But I think the more linear style has worked better in general. But there have only been 2 of the more open world ones, and one of them (Sunshine) is probably the worst 3D Mario game yet. I just played through 3D World and that is an almost perfect game in my opinion. That being said I love that Odyssey is an open world style Mario game. Nintendo is at their best when they are taking chances.

I like both, but I prefer the "Open-World" style.

I enjoy all Super Mario games, to be honest, whether 2D, 3D, linear, or open-ended. As a platforming fan I like the laser-like focus of the 2D titles. As a fan of action-adventure I like the freedom and exploration of the 3D games. I guess the 3D Land/World series is somewhere in between?

Nintendo puts a lot of love and creativity into the series, so it always delivers.
