Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump Calls For Stealing Iraq's Oil Again, Media Doesn't Care

"Respect to foreign authoritarism is peace."

If you care about the middle east blame Obama/Clinton/Bush who started one war after another - from Iraq to Syria.

The oil is currently funding ISIS, so keep it away from them is a good idea.

US taxpayers spent $60 billion in reconstruction grants to Iraq - the question if Iraq should pay back some of it is a valid one, even if there is no clear answer considering the legitimacy of the Iraq War.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/much-of-60b-from-us-to-rebuild-iraq-wasted-special-auditors-final-report-to-congress-shows/

To date, the U.S. has spent more than $60 billion in reconstruction grants to help Iraq get back on its feet after the country was broken by more than two decades of war, sanctions and dictatorship. That works out to about $15 million a day.

I wonder how much of that damage was caused by the US though.

Not only will we give you democracy, but we'll make you pay it back too.

Is the media not caring good or bad?
I have absolutely no idea anymore with all this partisan bullshit LOL.

Clinton supported the war too, and the Democratic Party still kept troops in Iraq. Foreign occupation is a bipartisan thing.

I am so happy I voted for him. He is mother teresa compared to what I actually want him to do, but he's at least doing something. I expect him to be a mild reformer and so far he plans to build the wall and is carrying through with removing illegal criminals. Good enough for now. Styxhexenhammer666 seems to understand what's going on. Most Trump supporters I know are happy or feel he isn't doing enough honestly. This is what he ran on so I don't see the suprise. Anti-war, but in cases of foreign policy he is looking for American interests over world police BS.

I do worry about Putin though. If US and Russia can get along (which never would have happened under war monger Clinton) then no nation can defeat us. Even China is nothing compared to Russia in terms of missiles, counter missiles, and nukes. Keep things in perspective. Iraq poses no threat to us unless our military isn't doing their job. We do have the best military even though our size is small the only threat to us realistically is Russia. Fearing Iraq is a little bit absurd.

I also feel Israel is the problem for us. Trump is very pro-Israel which is a big concern to me as a supporter of his. Realistically Israel could wipe the rest of the middle east off the map by themselves so our involvement is mostly unnecessary. I understand why they want us to do their work and for international support, but it's been hurting us every single time. I feel if Iran was really developing nukes Israel would just drone strike their labs into oblivion, but I suppose it's possible they could hide it...I really don't know how hard it is to hide something like that because I would think radiation levels or something would give it away.

I also love him. As the most powerful man on earth he can do whatever he wants, at least he is honest in his goals and opinions.

Obama on the other hand was a thread for the western world. He destabilized the middle east and produced millions of refugees on purpose to use them as a weapon to destroy the rival EU and destabilize the remaining states. He succeeded as the EU and the Euro is now falling apart and threatened by terrorism while the European economy badly suffers from the Russia sanctions, more than anybody else in the world.

So even though Trump is planning on doing EXACTLY the same thing as Obama (perhaps worse), it's okay because "he's honest".

Absolutely no logic in that statement.

You have to take note that the media chose this time to be silent about Trump. Meaning that as long as Trump aligns with their (corporate) agenda, they couldn't care less about him fucking shit up, just like what happened with Obama.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

My last sentence referred to political parties trying to one-up themselves every chance they get.

What I'm trying to understand here, is whether the media reporting about Trump wanting to take the oil is either good or bad.

Personally to me as a sorta Trump supporter( I want hs economic policies to succeed but I'm no fan of the guy) the media reporting on this would only hurt his administration since they get to portray him as authoritarian, and taking the oil kind of implies that boots have to step into the ME again.

The EU is already dead and filled with radical islamistic terrorists. There is nothing left that Trump could destroy. Obama already did the job.

By getting along with Russia and dropping the sanctions, Trump will help the western economy to get over the crisis. Also the increased military spending to fight against terrorism will help the European economy and create many new jobs.
