Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Arms will be the new Splatoon?

Will it be a success for Nintendo?

Yay! 56 47.86%

Mediocre 44 37.61%

Fail.... 17 14.53%

Total:117

Remember the days "some" people thought splatoon will fail miserable

arms got a cold reception (including myself) to a lot of people i know... until the treehouse event which showcased the game very well

now arms is shaping like a decent game... will it be the next successful IP by nintendo after splatoon? or just another dud

how much will sell in it's life time?

possible metacritic score?

will you buy it?

do you have hair on your tongue?

will it be as forgetable as the game you already forgotten?

Arms seem pretty interesting. I am excited for it. But could you post on OP the link for the video you mention.

done

I had my reservations, but it's great that you can play this game with a traditional controller. I think it'll sell well, just not Splatoon well.

It will most certainly not be thew the new splatoon. Splatoon 2 will be the new splatoon.
Arms will just be Arms, though it may be a breakaway success like splatoon was.

I think it will do well but it's so hard to tell! When a new IP comes on a Nintendo console that is received well it always has great potential.

Since it's coming out essentially at launch I'm going to give it a 2-2.5million lifetime.

While it might not be the breakaway success that Splatoon was I think it will do well.
As long as Nintendo deliveres on the gameplay, this will be a sucess. I think a demo a la Splatoon might be a good Idea.

I don't know about that.

I think it will do fairly well, but I don't see it becoming a breakout sensation, a la Splatoon.

I think Splatoon was (and is) so beloved because it changed expectations on a hugely popular genre. It made shooter fans out of folks who didn't really like shooters. The competitive scene is robust (but accessible), and the way Nintendo released content piece by piece (although super frustrating for some people, including me) kept enthusiasm strong.

I'm unsure if Arms can create that same environment - one that's super competitive, highly-social, and, somehow, accessible for all skill levels.

It will do at least a million, i think. It may become bigger then that, but the other modes will have to broaden the scope.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I'm just not sure that boxing is that popular of a genre, comparing to shooters like Splat. It could do very good, but highly doubt it will reach Splatoon's success.
