Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Phil Spencer leaves door open for Xbox 360 emulation on Windows 10

There is no doubt in my mind that Windows 10, Surface Devices, and Xbox (If it doesn't become a Surface device) will all support the entire XB, X360, and XBO catalogs in the future. The same will be true on the PlayStation side with PS1 - PS3. I Think PSP, PSV, PS1, PS2, and XB titles will all recieve upgrades for higher rendering resolutions, trophies/achievements, and PvP online in some cases.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Anyway Xbox fans don't comment a lot because there are few of us left.

Same with PC fan base.

Great, but what we really need is original Xbox Emulation.

Though this makes me wonder if "BC" will be used as an avenue for M$ to introduce XBL Gold to PC.

Not really. The majority of decent games on Xbox were on PC anyway.
Original Xbox emulation is needed on the Xbox One though.

Also... Xbox Live Gold will *never* fly on PC.

Great news if it comes, but I also want original Xbox emulation NOW :).

In the end its a really good thing for preserving the games and also the value for digital games, the value for digital games with play anywhere is higher then its ever been and this will just add to that.

If a digital future is truely the way microsoft is paving the road for that nicely. I love it

I've owned a 360 since launch and have lots of ou games. Never understood why ppl get excited over 360 games on pc and x1. I'd prefer some x1 exclusives over a game in beat 6 yrs ago.

that's the thing... You put your finger on it in your last sentence.... BEAT i know a ton of people that never finished their backlogs and with the X1 and GwG and growing up It's not getting easier... I counted my backlog of games I'd like to finish someday... It's over a 100 and a good chunk are 360 games...even if those games weren't longer than 5 hours It still would be 500 hours... So yeah BC is awesome....

Also replaying a series like mass effect or playing the wither 2 before starting 3 or even revisiting some of the excellent halo and gears games co-op with a friend is just simply amazing, maybe not everyone wants it, fine. But its a console seller to people who still like their old collection and its also a very nice bonus in over 80% of the games the xbox one actually plays the games in a higher framerate and in most of those cases the games get significantly better.

This is boosted in many split screen games and also some of gamings most notable games, like left for dead 2 or half life 2 and episode 1&2 are simply only playable on PC or last gen consoles and its sutch a lovely bonus to get all of that out of one box.

great news

Hope not, it's the only function my X1 uses, take that away and it really is useless.

I think the true question is, which x360 games never released on PC, and are they good?

Halo 3 and 4, Red dead Redemption, and Lost Odyssey to name a few.
