Which ideology is worse: fascism or communism?

Forums - Politics Discussion - Which ideology is worse: fascism or communism?

So, which one is it?

Fascism 127 69.40%

Communism 56 30.60%

Total:183

You can't even compare the two. If you'd say Stalinism vs. Fascism, I'd understand. But this is just illogical.

This is odd. Communism is extreme Left economics (so is FULL socialism but not the same thing) while fascism is full authoritarian government control of society. A leader like Joseph Stalin could be both of these things.

Why do people defend communism because it is noble in "theory"? it has been tried multiple times and doesn't work, it has killed tens of millions more than Nazis. It is the deadliest ideology and should be shot down as soon as someone tries to make any type of case for it.

More people have died under capitalist regimes than the Soviet-style regimes, but for some reason every death in the former is a result of something else while in the latter it's always because of communism.

let's see...
germany under a fascist leader went from the poorest and weakest country in europe to the richest and most powerful in about a decade.
communism reduced the most powerful nation on earth into pretty much a bankrupt state, granted it took almost a century, but still.

HMMMMMMM....

And reduced Germany to rubble, even today when you go to their major cities most of their historical areas aren't really historical because the country was bombed back to the stone age.

Fascist states basically collapse after a few years because they can't stop themselves from picking a fight. It's like an idiot who gets drunk and thinks he's all hot shit and then runs around a nightclub hitting on every guy's girlfriend, eventually he's going to hit on the wrong girl and get his ass beat by a pissed off boyfriend. It's only a matter of time.

It wasn't really meant to be logical, I just wanted to see what VGChartz generally thought without trying to influence their thoughts.

They seem to lead more or less to the same place. But since communism has a much higher body count and seems more woefully ignorant of human nature, I'll say communism.

Wouldn't human greed actually be a good argument FOR communism? If people are always greedy and will abuse power, then it makes sense to have a system where nobody has control over another, instead of one where a few people rule and rig the system in their favour.

Except communism has always resulted in a few people ruling and rigging the system in their favor. Just like every other system, only they tend to kill a lot more people to maintain it.

Both are just as bad

Fascism gave us the 3rd Reich, Hitler, Mussolini and one of the worst atrocity's in human history while Communism gave us Stalin, another mass slaughter, partly caused the cold war and Chernobyl.

Which makes the result even more baffling. Communism in itself is not bad at all. Read some Marx and Engels, people. Not that it'll ever work, but it's a neat idea.

Communism is a classless, stateless society. The Soviet Union was neither the former nor the latter. Yes, the Soviet Union was brutal, but I don't like the Soviet Union, in fact there are many communists that don't (specifically anarchists). Also, you seem to give too much credit to the capitalist systems, they have killed numerous people as well in order to maintain power.
