Forums - PC Discussion - Recommend a Laptop

Can't really help you with advice, I'm looking for a laptop myself and can't find any.
I don't want to go over CAD 2000 for 512GB SSD and 16GB ram but that seems impossible. I'm afraid of the price your configuration would come to over here!

Since you have a budget of 2000 - would you like to lean towards something cheaper or maximum specs for the budget limit?

If you'd prefer something on the "cheaper" end of your budget but still a premium product, you have the HP Chromebook G1;

- Intel Core m7 + Intel HD 515
- 16 GB LDDR3 1866mhz RAM
- QHD+ display
- 1x USB A 3.1 - 2x USB C 3.1 - microSD slot (supports SDHC / SDXC up to UHS-I) - Headphone / Microphone jack
- Backlit Keyboard - Glass Trackpad (with gesture support)
- 1.29 KG = 2.86 LB - 12.59 x 8.64 x 0.50 in (W - D - H)
- 32GB eMMC - 1TB Google Drive (free for 3 years) - expandable storage via MicroSD or USB
- AC Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2
- B&O PLAY Dual front facing speakers
- HP TrueVision HD camera (720p)
- 7h+ battery life (not the best compared to other Chromebooks)
- Chrome OS (super light-weight, based around Chrome browser and uses web apps, Android app support is already out on most devices and will release by the end of the year on the G1 too, will boot up in 5 seconds or less and syncs with your Gmail account)
- You can easily dual - boot Linux or even Windows if you desire, you can also set up Crouton and switch between Chrome OS and Linux with the press of a button (Linux will allow you to use photo editing software and play Dota 2 while you can do casual web browsing on Chrome OS)
- 1049 USD (you can get versions with 8GB of RAM and 16GB of storage and Core m5 for cheaper)

Admittedly Chromebooks make much more sense when they're cheaper, but this one offers competitive specs for an Ultrabook in the price range.

If you want to spend the max out of your budget the the Dell XPS 13 will serve you fine, every list and blog out there recommends it, and you've listed some good specs considering it's not a gaming laptop.
