The electoral collage is part of your problem. It's not a solution for anything.

Pretty much this. It kills votes in states that are all red or all blue. I live in a hardcore red state and its tough to get people to go vote because they know their vote means nothing.

Any system kills votes because people think their votes mean nothing. It's the same here, while our system is based on the popular vote (depending on the elections, though).

New thread title "Invalid votes in Florida could have doubled Trumps margin of victory"

Glass half full/half empty. I'm tired of all these anti trump headline grabbers.

Except the current title isn't politically loaded at all and just conveys the truth, while your "alternative" reflects an obvious political bias. The OP said nothing about wether those votes might've gone to Hillary or Trump if they had known how close the race would be. You're the only one bringing it up here.

Clinton's popular votes have long outnumbered Trump's.

True but Trump wasn't trying to win the popular vote he was trying to win the electorate. Hillary should have focused on doing the same instead of ignoring the rust belt because of "reasons". She warned by everyone, former Bernie supporters, her husband, her own campaign team.

Someone explain to me the point of the electoral college if it doesn't always represent the popular vote.

Don't look at me I voted for Turd Sandwich.

God, when did the Left get so embarrassing. I'm seriously thinking of switching sides.

The PS5 Exists.

Not voting, voting for a third party, and casting a nonsense protest vote are all real political choices the problem is they have REAL political consequences.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

And you're assuming all these people would have voted for Hillary? Even without Florida, Trump would've won the election, so...

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

The electoral college is spelled out in Article 2 of the Constitution.  The rationale for it is to give smaller states a say in a Presidential election.

In other words, a candidate is not guaranteed a victory even if they win the popular vote nor by winning the largest states like California, Texas, New York, Florida, etc.

Smaller states already have a say: votes from smaller states count no more or less than the votes cast in larger states.
