Forums - Politics Discussion - Would you go to war for your country?

Would you?

Of course I will 41 11.75%

Only if I think the cause is very good 79 22.64%

Probably not 70 20.06%

Never 159 45.56%

Depends.

If my country was under threat to be invaded by a foreign power, then yes. I would be first in line to sign up.

If my country was to invade another country (Such as the war in the Middle East) then the answer is no.

Depends. I'm not gonna help invade some hell hole in the Middle-East or Africa, but if my country or its allies get attacked I would go.

I live in Australia. Chances are that we'd just be fighting someone else's war. If that is the case..... Hell no.

No i dont wanna die so soon.

Yes and dieing for my country is more than enough reason.

Doubt switzerland go in a war anysoon, but nope never, i was fired from army anyway lol

This isn't really a single-sided question. It depends on my factors. To keep it simple; in foreign places definitely no, I'm not going to go anywhere to go to war for my country, but to defend my own country on home turf when it threatens our way of life, ie. a World War II, then yes.

It's funny that my country got the lowest score in that poll, but I'm not surprised. With the exception of our own war for independance, we've been pretty opposed to any wars for centuries. Unfortunately we couldn't always stay out of it.

I'd go to war, but as a journalist, not a fighter.

Already been so that's an automatic yes.

Edit But I went for money and the experience

i live in the US and i would never fight in a war.

No, not because i hate the country and think Trump is going to destroy everything, I just hate the idea of having to kill somebody, and i hate the fact that my country spends more on military than all other nations combined. there is no such thing as a good death, and there is no such thing as a good war.
