Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Japanese devs shares thoughts about NS system.

It's interesting how all of them thinks the NS price is "cheap", or how VR it's possible, and HD rumble.

Well, some of them knows the tech inside the system, on vgchartz nobody has a clue about it, that's why they know it is cheap.

This is interesting, Katsuhiro Harada (Tekken etc.)

"I’ve been interested in the HD Rumble for some time now. You can feel a glass marble rolling around inside of a metal box, or feel the spot where a bouncy ball bounces. It’s interesting that it can be used like the so-called 3D sound. And this is just a crazy idea of mine, but the system itself is so light that if you took out the Joy-Con with the IR camera and set it up, and placed the screen in some kind of apparatus, you could transform it into a wireless VRHMD by rendering the left and right sides of the screen separately for each eye. So I think the Switch is capable of a lot of different things, depending on the ideas of the developer"

Wireless VR there you have guys.

You do know that the Switch is right a bit cheaper in Japan, right?

In Japan, this thing has the potential to save console gaming. It's pretty much the only device that could pull it off because for the first time, they're going to have the option to have a handheld that they can take with them but also dock when they get home. It's the only console I've ever seen since handhelds took over in Japan that caters to the west and the east at the same time.

For a hybrid device that plays games like this and the tech built into it, it is pretty cheap. I'm not having issues with the initial price, I have issues with the accessories and some of the prices of the games.

Just like Nintendo said in the presentation, they are packing sooo many elements in that 1 package! Its all up to the softwares now.

And I love how that person said something about HD Rumble in Visual Novels............ That would also be interesting.

With taxes it is 284 USD so the difference is not so big.

From what I rememeber after the Switch was revealed last year, most people were expecting $275-$300 and hoping for $250 and it wasn't until the $250 rumors started popping up that a lot of people started using $250 as the upper-limit of what was acceptable.  People like to say that they're not influenced by rumors but a lot of the reactions after the Switch presentation tell a different story.
