As long as hé doesnt ban m'y country, i dont mind

Why would he ban the United Kingdom?

Because following his supposed logic, if he actually wanted to use this to stop terrorism then the UK probably should be on there. France and Belgium too. Saudia Arabia, UAE and Egypt as well (considering the nationalities of the 9/11 bombers I would have thought this should have been an absolute certainty).

A lot of the Islamic extremist terrorism that has occured in the West has been homegrown terrorists or converts.

That's why this is ridiculously disproportionate and not going to be particularly effective. A lot of the more recent Islamic terrorists acts in the US were from US citizens (Boston bombing, Fort Hood, San Bernandhino, Orlando nightclub shooting, Chattanooga shooting etc.). Instead, you're just stopping highly educated people that could be paying into the American economy from coming in.

If you really want to stop terrorists, you have to stop the ISIL propaganda and narrative from taking hold on the people you already have in your Country.

Lol. So how are things different now? Flexing muscles against weak destroyed countries is exactly what the US has been doing for decades, and Trump is just taking that further, why is he getting praised for it?

If you don't have the balls to fix & go after the root of the problem (wahabism), then you are just like the rest.

I've yet to see anyone praise this.

But it does seem marginally less stupid to ban people from countries you've been bombing than it does to bomb them while allowing them entry to your own country.

Stricter and harder to get visa's I would be fine with, ban is to harsh but even if it has a negative effect it is what his voters wanted so Trump will win anyway..

If you were one of those crazy Iranian people who loved USA and went to study in USA and even started a business and employ people..Well sucks for you if you were now at the moment with your family in Iran :s.

I'm actually talking about Trump's overall stance in middle eastern policy. He is way more interested in Iran than he is in sunni dominated islamic terrorism. Why ban Iran? Iran isn't supporting ISIS or the rebels in Syria. Name me one organized religious terrorist act in the West that had any ties to Iran.

I said religious terrorism in the West. The last big one was only against israelis and that was way in the 90s. This is just normal attacks for assassination of key figures, like placing bombs in special persons car.. And it's only against israeli high officials or political enemies, not against civilians.

1. Funny how the countries he does business with aren't banned. Pisses me off how Saudi Arabia gets to be such a disgusting place without consequence

The list of countries more than likely comes from the DHS, not from DJT. I have provided a link earlier in the thread.

I don't understand people complaining that Trump is doing exactly everything he said he would do. I get it that lots of people didn't vote for him and still have hopes that he changes some of his campaign promises. If you elect this mind of asshole you kind of deserves what you get. No hatred towards USA, I really wanted him to lose even not liking Hillary but damn how can you elect Trump? At least there is an oppotunity for some "revolutionary" change, if people really fight and do it the right way.

And what would the right way be?

I think USA could have the right to ban anyone they want in exchange of not doing any kind of business with these countries. Why would the US benefit from the banned countries ressources and wealth.

So, it's confirmed that the person I know won't be able to enter the US, and thus just lost himself a post-doc at MIT (extremely important to his career.) Fuck Trump, no consideration whatsoever of how these decisions can ruin lives of normal individuals. Also Americans, without a doubt, considering that there has been a response banning of American citizens in some countries.

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

There has been some retaliations from some countries (i.e. Americans can't go into Iran). No one wants to start a trade war over this.

Why can't your friend come in? Is he from one of these countries? The ban is for 90 or 120 days. I'm not sure how that completely takes away your friend's ability to go to MIT at a later day. I'm sure he can work with the university and explain the situation.
